In today’s Gospel, Jesus’ challenge to Martha is
really asking her to examine her priorities. Service is
important, but service begins with listening to the Master. How do
you need to reorder your priorities to have time to sit at Jesus’ feet
and listen to him? In what ways have you become burdened “with
much serving?”

Praying for Vocations
Praying for vocations with the Paulist
Mission Cross. Our joint UCC and St. Austin
vocations committee invites families or
individuals to sign up to receive a Paulist
Mission Cross that will be given out each
week at the end of our 10:30 am Mass. The
volunteers will take the Mission Cross home
with them along with a book of vocation
prayers with which they will pray during the
week. They will then bring the Cross and prayer booklet back the
following week and another family or individual will be invited to
take it for prayer. Don’t miss this opportunity to have a Paulist
Mission Cross for a week in your home. Sign up today at the UCC
front desk or by emailing
Please pray for:

Thank you to all who participated in our
Increased Giving efforts and Fiscal Year-End
Giving. Thanks to you we are able to meet
our financial obligations for the month of June
and came closer to meeting all of our financial
goals for our fiscal year. Looking forward to
next year, we increased our monthly gifts by
$1,812 per month but would like to see that increase by at least
another $700. This will help us to better meet our growing
ministry needs in the coming year.

We have a lot to look forward to in the coming school year. We
hired a new dynamic Campus Minister, Dorothy Harper, who will
begin work with us on August 1st, and we are looking to hire a new
Assistant Director of Development as well. We will also have
another FOCUS missionary joining us, bringing our total to five
missionaries. Sam Kelley, the new FOCUS team leader, will also be
doing more direct outreach to our student athletes. In an effort to
improve coordination and communication among our many diverse
student groups, our student groups have been organized under a
newly formed Longhorn Catholic Council.

Again, thank you for your support that makes this ministry possible.
Your prayers, finances, and involvement in our ministry enable us
to form future leaders for our Church and Society. The values and
leadership skills they receive as part of our ministry here will serve
us all far into the future. What starts here can indeed change the
