WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER SIX TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL DEPRESSION “ISANG” ISSUED AT 11:00 AM, 17 JULY 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today) TROPICAL DEPRESSION “ISANG” HAS ACCELERATED WHILE TRAVERSING THE BALINTANG CHANNEL. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today based on all available data, the center of Tropical Depression “ISANG” was estimated over the Calayan Island (19.3°N, 121.3°E). Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move North Northwest at 22 kph. Forecast Positions: Tropical Depression “ISANG” is expected to be at 540 km Northwest of Aparri, Cagayan or out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow morning.

Tropical Depression “ISANG” will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas.
Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the tropical Depression. Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lifted. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
