PP-PI Sheets Configuration Steps

Step 1 : Define control recipe destinations
In this IMG activity, you define control recipe destinations along with their addresses. If required, you also define the following:

The sequence in which material-related process instructions are generated in the process order The following for destinations whose control recipes are to be displayed as SAP PI sheets:
o o o

The type of signature (1) to be used in the PI sheet Data that controls system performance during PI sheet display Details about the actions for which a log is to be written in the PI sheet and whether a signature must be executed when logging these actions

For the transfer of control recipes with XSteps to an external system, the Generation of XSteps Blocks indicator must be set. (More information on the use of XSteps with connection of external systems is available in the SAP Library under Production Planning Process Industries -> Process Management -> XSteps ).

Requirements

If the control recipe destination is a non-SAP system, you must define an RCF destination (see Define RFC Destination). You must define a signature strategy that you want to assign to the control recipe destination in the following cases (see Define Signature Strategies):
o o

If a signature strategy with one digital signature is required If a signature strategy with several digital signatures is required

Standard settings The standard system contains examples of control recipe destinations.

Enter a key. 5. o For control recipe destinations of type 1 and type 4. or digital signatures for the following types of control recipe destinations: o o Type 1 (transfer to ABAP list-based PI sheet) Type 4 (transfer to browser-based PI sheet) 6. specify the number of phases to be displayed at once in the PI sheet. You can change this setting in the PI sheet. description. If only one signature is required. the signature method specified in the simple signature is automatically valid for all control recipe destinations to which you have not assigned a signature strategy.Activities To create a control recipe destination. c) Enter the user name along with the password. a) Choose Password. you have the following options: You set the Digital Signature indicator. and address for the control recipe destination. As a result. 3. b) Choose Create password. The detail screen for the control recipe destination appears. . Specify whether you want to use signatures without a password check. 2. 4. You need to be authorized to maintain users to do so. specify the sequence in which material-related process instructions are added to the process order or control recipe. If you want the system to generate process instructions for the control recipe destination. For control recipe destinations of type 1 (transfer to ABAP list-based PI sheet). proceed as follows: 1. you have the following options: o You can use the Simple Password Check for control recipe destinations of type 1. type. Choose New Entries. signatures with a simple password (for type 1 only). Go back to the control recipe destination overview and define passwords for the corresponding users.

you define which signature strategy you want to use: o o To sign a process step To confirm invalid input values If you want to use a different signature strategy for specific process instructions. you can assign the strategy directly to the process instruction. To confirm invalid input values 7. Save. (1) Types of Signature The SAP PI sheet supports the following types of signature: Signatures without a password check You do not need a special authorization to enter this type of signature in the PI sheet. To sign a process step . If a log is to be created in the PI sheet. If several digital signatures are required. 8.You set the Digital Signature indicator and enter a signature strategy with one individual signature for the following cases: . The system does not check the signature you entered. Signatures with a simple password check consist of the following:   A user name An application-specific user password . Signatures with a simple password check You can use this signature type for control recipe destinations of type 1 only. enter the following in the Logging in PI Sheet group box: o o o Which actions are to be logged Whether a signature must be executed when logging Which signature strategy is to be used for the Log with Digital Signature 9.

PI sheet: accept invalid input values To make settings for the simple signature. you must be authorized to create user master records. you assign an additional signature strategy with several individual signatures to the control recipe destination or process instruction. the signature method specified in the simple signature is automatically used for all control recipe destinations to which you have not assigned a signature strategy. you assign the signature strategy you want to use to the following signature objects: . The system checks this authorization when you enter a signature in the PI sheet. o Signature strategy with one individual signature Here. . To make settings for the signature strategy.PI sheet: process step .  If more than one signature is required. In the process instruction for the signature. To do so. go to Customizing for Process Management and choose activity Control Recipes/PI Sheets -> Digital Signature -> Signature Strategy. For simple signatures. you can specify any activity for the authorization object in the PI sheet. you can use the: o Signature strategy with several individual signatures Here. You assign plant-specific user passwords in Customizing for Control Recipe Destinations. you assign an additional signature strategy with one individual signature to the control recipe destination or process instruction. Digital signatures  If only one signature is required. you have the following options: o Simple signature with signature method If you only set the Digital signature indicator. go to Customizing for Process Management and choose activity Control Recipes/PI Sheets > Digital Signature -> Specify Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature.

you must have the following authorizations:  In the authorization object for the PI sheet: The authorization for the actvity Execute digital signature as well as for any activity defined in the process instruction  In the authorization object for the digital signature: The authorization for the authorization group of the relevant individual signature if you use signature strategies When executing a signature. you assign the suitable process instruction categories to the following types of control recipe destinations:   Type 2. when you create process instructions for a phase to which the control recipe destination is assigned. Entering a comment is mandatory for signatures that are used to accept invalid input values. "Download to external system. when you specify which process instructions are to be generated automatically for a control recipe destination. If you do not assign process instruction categories to a control recipe destination. the system displays a warning. To execute a digital signature. only the assigned process instruction categories are displayed when you call up the possible entries function from the following points:  in Customizing.  You can still enter a process instruction category that is not assigned to the control recipe destination. initiated by process control" As a result. you can also enter a comment. . "Download to external system. However. all existing process instruction categories are displayed as possible entries as usual. in the master recipe and the process order. initiated by Process Management" Type 3. In this step.
