VME  through  the  years  
VME  Group  was  founded.  One  of  the  pioneers  in  mechaniza9on  of  earthwork  using  excavators   1986   and  other  sophis9cated  equipment.  

Ventured  into  building  bridges  for  the  Tamil  Nadu  State  Highways  based  on  Precast  Technology.   1992   Won  an  accolade  from  World  Bank  team  for  quality  and  also  speedy  execu9on  for  the  very  first   bridge.   A  bow  string  girder  bridge  at  Katpadi  for  Southern  Railways  which  won  a  Na9onal  Award  by  the   Indian  Ins9tute  of  Bridge  Engineers.  This  bridge  was  completed  in  1998  where  the  en9re  span  of   1998   42  meters  weighing  750  tons  was  cast  separately  and  placed  in  posi9on.  Setup  its  own  Ready  mix   concrete  unit.  

2008  

Set  up  India’s  First  Completely  Automated  Precast  Factory  along  with  global  associates  VaBe  and   Elema9c  of  Finland.   Diversified  into  Real  Estate  domain  with  VME  Realty.  Launched  it  First  Project  –  Lakeside  in   August  2010  .  The  en9re  construc9on  will  be  done  using  Precast  Technology.

Chennai 84 Precast prestressed beams were cast and placed in just 3 months in the year 1992 Moorad Bridge – Railway Bridge in the back waters of Kerala Special Sacrificial caisson were used for Well foundation and each well weighing 300Mt were placed in position after casting for the first time in Southern Railway .TesImonies    that  have  stood  the     test  of  Ime     Ekkaduthangal – Bridge across Adyar River.

Longer  spans  and  greater  strengths  of  hollow  core  slabs  is  specially  advantageous  for  long  span   buildings  where  unobstructed  space  is  required.     Grade  of  concrete  used  is  M  60   HCS  weigh  40  to  50  %  less  than  conven9onal  RCC  slabs  of  the  same  dimensions.   HCS  are  manufactured  in  160,  200,  265mm  thick  as  standard  products.     Annual  ProducIon  capacity  –  1,80,000  Sqm

Advantages  of  Precast  
Quality Control In VME, the Precast Elements are produced in a controlled environment in a state-of-the-art plant. Hence the highest levels of quality control can be maintained as opposed to on-site pouring of concrete Strength Precast elements casted in the factory are of higher grade concrete mix proportions as compared to the conventional way of on-site construction. Weather Dependency Precast concrete elements are cured in the plant itself which cuts down the time required for curing and at the same time ensures proper effective curing. Dependency on the weather is also avoided as changes in the weather will not delay production or affect the erection schedule. Weather Resistance Unlike other precast materials that can rust, rot or degrade in the presence of moisture, precast concrete actually gets stronger if the un-hydrated cement particles in it react with water, thus making it completely water-resistant. Durability Using precast concrete elements improves construction quality and thus extends the life cycle of buildings. Corrosion & Fire Resistance Precast concrete is designed to withstand the most common corrosive agents. Most precast materials other than concrete and steel are flammable or do not perform well in high temperatures. In fact, even steel looses its structural capacity quickly which can lead a building to collapse. Precast concrete is one of the few noncombustible building materials which does not loose its structural capacity nearly as quickly as steel, and performs very well even in elevated temperatures.
