How do I winterize my pressure washer? Winterizing your pressure washer will help protect and prolong its life. We strongly recommend you follow the below steps using Pressure Washer Antifreeze (039-8602-0). This will keep the internal parts lubricated, protected from rust, and prevents the pump from freezing. 1. 2. 3. 4. Connect the pump saver hose onto the adaptor and quick-connect coupling. Depress button on top of pump saver container. Continue until fluid exits the pressure hose. Remove the hose from pump inlet.

If you cannot do the Optimum Winterizing procedure, you can still protect your pressure washer from winter damage by doing the below: 1. 2. 3. 4. Disconnect all water connections. Turn on the machine for a few seconds, until the remaining water in the pump exits. Turn off immediately. Do not allow high-pressure hose to become kinked. Store the machine and accessories in a room that does not reach freezing temperatures. Do not store near furnace or other sources of heat as it may dry out the pump seals.

2. Why does the motor not start? Symptom Motor will not start. Cause On/Off switch is in the "OFF" (O) position. Power cord is not plugged in. Solution Turn switch to the "ON" ( | ) position. Plug in power cord.

Extension cord is too long. Replace extension cord with either a 25' (7.6 m) 14/3 gauge cord Extension cord is not proper gauge. or a 50' (15 m) 14/3 gauge cord. Extension cord is damaged. Electrical outlet does not supply adequate power. Tripped pressure washer circuit breaker Try a different outlet. Allow to cool, and restart unit.

3. Why can't my unit reach high pressure? Symptom Unit does not reach high pressure. Cause Diameter of garden hose is too small. Water supply is restricted. Not enough inlet water supply. Water inlet filter is clogged. Power nozzle is in low-pressure position. Pump is sucking air. Solution Replace with a 1" (25 mm) or 5/8" (16 mm) garden hose. Check garden hose for kinks, leaks and blockage. Open water source fully. Remove filter and rinse in warm water. Turn power nozzle to high-pressure position. Check that hoses and fittings are airtight. Turn "OFF" machine, and purge pump by squeezing trigger gun until a steady flow of water emerges through the nozzle.

4. Why does the pressure vary from high and low? Symptom Cause Solution Turn water on fully. Check garden hose for kinks, leaks or blockage. Check that hoses and fittings are airtight. Turn "OFF" machine, and purge pump by squeezing trigger gun until a steady flow of water emerges through the nozzle. Remove filter and rinse in warm water. Blow out or remove debris with a fine needle. Run distilled vinegar through detergent tank.

Output pressure Not enough inlet water supply. varies high and low. Pump is sucking air.

Water inlet filter is clogged. Discharge nozzle is obstructed. Calcified gun, hose or power nozzle. 5. Why is there no detergent coming out? Symptom No Detergent Cause Detergent container is empty.

Solution Add more detergent.

Detergent bottle or suction tube not Check connections. properly connected. Detergent is too thick. Filter on detergent suction tube is clogged. Damaged or clogged detergent suction tube. Discharge nozzle is obstructed. Dilute detergent. Run warm water through filter to remove debris. Remove obstruction or replace detergent suction tube.

Nozzle is in high-pressure position. Turn nozzle tip to low-pressure position. Blow out or remove debris with a fine needle.

6. Why does the garden hose connection leak?

Symptom Garden hose connection leaks.

Cause Loose fittings. Missing/worn rubber washer.

Solution Tighten fittings. Insert new washer. Call the Toll-Free Hotline: 1-866-902-9690

7. Why does the wand/nozzle leak? Symptom Spray wand, extension, or nozzle leaks. Cause Solution

Spray nozzle not properly attached. Insert the spray nozzle into the trigger gun. Carefully press in against the spring tension, and twist into thelocked position. Broken o-ring or plastic insert. Call the Toll-Free Hotline: 1-866-902-9690

8. Why is the pump noisy? Symptom Pump is noisy. Cause Pump is sucking air Solution Check that hoses and fittings are airtight. Turn off machine and purge pump by squeezing trigger gun until a steady flow of water emerges through the nozzle.

9. Why is there water leaking from the pump? Symptom Water leaks from pump (up to 10 drops per minute is permissible). Cause Loose fittings. Water seals are damaged or worn. Solution Check that all fittings are tight. Call the Toll-Free Hotline: 1-866-902-9690

10. Why is there oil dripping from my unit? Symptom Oil is dripping Cause Oil seals are damaged or worn. Solution Call the Toll-Free Hotline: 1-866-902-9690

11. Why does the motor buzz, but fails to run? Symptom Cause Solution Verify that only the pressure washer is running on this circuit. Turn unit "OFF", squeeze trigger on spray wand to release pressure, then turn unit "ON". Unplug any extension cords attached and plug the unit directly into the outlet.

Motor buzzes Supply voltage below minimum. but fails to run. System has residual pressure. Voltage loss due to extension cord.

Pressure washer not used for long periods. Call the Toll-Free Hotline: 1-866-902-9690
