Stomach upset or gas, severe headache, unexplained weight gain, swelling of the hands or feet, pain/swelling/warmth in the groin/calf, change in amount of urine, difficult/painful swallowing, unusual tiredness

Tell patient he may take with or without food. Monitor V/S Assessed for any cardiovascular events, MI, stroke. Assess for infection (vital signs, appearance of wound, sputum, urine, and stool; WBC) at beginning of and during therap. Monitor GIT disturbance including bleeding, perforation or ulceration of stomach. Assess for any allergic reaction to medication and Aspirin and other NSAIDS Ask the px if she is pregnant or a plan to become pregnant and not recommended to first and last trimester of pregnancy As appropriate, review all other significant and life-threatening adverse reactions and interactions, especially those related to the drugs, tests, and foods mentioned above.

Mode of action Believed to be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, primarily via inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and at therapeutic concentrations in humans, CELEBREX does not inhibit the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) isoenzyme. Indication CELEBREX (celecoxib) is indicated for relief of the signs and symptoms of RA and acute pain 
