Option 2 (point MaintSmart to a user provided database) Step 3: To link MaintSmart to a user-provided database click the “Find Database” button then navigate to the database you want to link to. Radio button selection doesn’t matter in this case as you are locating a user-provide database. NOTE: When you choose a database MaintSmart assumes you will continue to use this database. In order to prevent users from accidentally selecting one of the DEMO databases the database selection radio buttons are hidden thereafter. To see how to un-hide these buttons refer to page 8.

Next: when the “find file” dialog screen appears simply navigate to wherever you placed the MaintSmart database. Select it with a single left mouse-click then press the “Open” button. If you selected this option you should now skip to page 6.

How to Login To MaintSmart

327

Step 4: Now select the “Plant” or “Building” Code. The DEMO database use the code: 327. Otherwise use the appropriate code for the database you are using. In this example it happens to be “327” as the DEMO database was selected. NOTE: the top-level equipment hierarchy may be whatever you decide to call it. In this example we use “Plant” or “Building” but it could be “School”, “Fleet” or anything that works for you.
NOTE: MaintSmart version 2.3.3 and above have optional login, however you still need to enter a “plant” (top-level hierarchy) code.

admin
