I sat there lying on my bed. Just watching the fan spin above me. There was really nothing special about my room. No posters of celebrities across my walls, no theme setup. All there really was is a backpack in the corner of my room and some shelves that hold books, scientific books, so that way I can stuff my brain with knowledge. Though knowledge may seem a good thing, it is also a bad thing. There are some things I wish I never knew, like death, pain, and other sorts of horrific stuff. But I have the worst kind of knowledge, I can see into the future. Some people think this is a great gift. But it is more a burden than anything. I am Peter but people call me Pete. I am about 6 foot and 16 years old, I have short blonde hair and I'm somewhat strong. I also have crystal blue eyes, so crystal clear that I can see into the future. Right now I'm writing down about the past 2 years in what has happened to me. It is 2017 and I do not know how much longer I will live. I will explain everything in this book that I'm writing now. 2015 DAY 1: the alarm clock awoke me at 7:30 to tell me to get up and go to school. I quickly hurried into my closet and pulled a white t-shirt over my head and secured my jeans around my waist with a belt. My parents gave me my lunch and I rushed out the door and got on my bus. I usually sat in the back of the bus because most kids think I'm weird, but I beg to differ. When the bus came to a screech I hopped out and made my way to Hamilton High School. It just got renovated last year and is brand new. It is a next generation school, which utilizes the technology in 2015. As I made my way through the courtyard a group of kids came at me. One of the kids was 6'5" and stout. “Hey kid, I forgot my money for lunch so it looks like your gonna have to lend me some!” Yelled the kid. “Look i’m not looking for a fight.” I replied. Then all of a sudden a flash of memory came into my mind. I read into the future and saw that the bully was gonna punch me soon. “Ok kid you asked for it!” Said the bully. I quickly ducked as he threw a punch at me, knowing what he would do. “Ok that’s it!” Said the bully. And him and his friends walked over to me, to give me a beating. So I ran as fast as I could to get away from them. I ran into the school and flew down the hallway, pushing people out of the way and turning down different hallways. I finally lost them. I was breathing hard and my heart was racing. The bell rang and told me I was late for class, so I gathered my books and headed to class. When I got home it was 4:00 p.m.and it was chilly outside considering it was fall. My dad had just came into the house as I was settling in on the couch. “Hey Pete I bet you $20 the Giants are gonna beat the Ravens tonight.” Said my Dad. “Ok!” I replied. Me and my dad sat down on the couch and turned on the tv in our cosy living room. I looked into the future and saw that the Ravens were gonna win. “I win!” I said when the game was over. So my dad handed me $20. I guess seeing the future wasn’t ALL bad. I then kicked off my shoes and jumped into my bed. I picked off a book off my shelf and began to read. Day 2: the bus came to a halt and I stepped out on to the school grounds. I was walking to class when all of sudden I bumped into this girl. “I'm sorry!” I said. “It's ok!” She replied, “oh and by the way I'm Cassandra.” “I'm Pete,” I replied, “nice to meet you.” “So your the new kid here.” Said Cassandra. “Yes, and I really like the facility!” I exclaimed. Cassandra smiled at my remark. She had brown hair, blue eyes, and little dimples that popped out when she smiled. “Well i’ll see you around.” She said. It was lunch time and yesterday I had sat alone, so I decided to go sit with Cassandra. She was sitting with another guy, he was about my height and had auburn hair and brown eyes. “Oh hey Pete!” Said Cassandra. “Hey.” I replied as I sat down. “Oh Pete this is my friend Connor.” Cassandra said. “Hi!” Said Connor. “Hi!” I replied. All 3 of us talked at the table and discussed different topics. After talking to Connor for a while I found that he was really nice. Though Cassandra was who kept my attention throughout the whole lunch period. Then near the end of
lunch a group of cheerleaders walked up to Cassandra. “Hey loser, are you still sad you didn’t make the cheer squad.” Said one of the cheerleaders. “Shut up Claire!” Replied Cassandra. “Aww well watch your back Cass, because I will get mean!” Said Claire. Then I had another flash and saw that Claire was going squirt a bottle of ketchup all over Cassandra. “Well here's a little warning!” Said Claire as she pulled put the ketchup bottle. Then I jumped in front of Cassandra to protect her from the ketchup that oozed from the bottle. “Hey look Cassandra has a little dork hero!” Yelled Claire as she pointed at me. And everyone in the lunch room starting pointing and laughing at me. Then my face was set ablaze and embarrassment flooded me. So ran out of the lunch room and ran into the bathroom upset and embarrassed. When I finally got enough nerve to go to class, I saw Cassandra walking toward me. “Hey what you did for me was really sweet.” She said. “Thanks...” I replied and I walked down the hallways with my head hung low and people laughing at me everywhere I went. After the nightmare of school was over, I rode the bus home and went straight to my room. The day had not gone as I well as I had wanted it too. But at least I made friends. Then my eyes felt as if they were a hundred pounds and I fell into a deep sleep. Day 3: Ring! Ring! That was the sound of the bell saying go to class. School was always easy for me. I always knew what the answers were to my tests and homework. So right now I have a 4.5 GPA. Today me, Cassandra, and Connor were going to meet up in the courtyard after school to hang out. When school was out I went by the big tree in the middle of the courtyard and saw Connor leaning up against the cracked old trunk and Cassandra texting on her phone. I walked up to them. “Hey guys!” I said. “Hey Pete!” They replied. “So how are you guys doing?” I asked. “Good.” Said Connor. “Well I was doing great, but Claire and her cheerleader friends keep bothering the hell out of me.” Said Cassandra. A flash then appeared and my head starting hurting. “2017.” I yelled out loud. “What?” Said Cassandra. “I'm sorry guys my head... It just hurts...” I said. “Oh, are you ok?” Asked Cassandra. “Yeah I'll be fine.” I replied. Then I walked over to Cassandra and whispered in her ear. “Hey why is Connor being so quite.” I asked her quietly. Cassandra then leaned in close to my ear and said. “He is upset, because his parents are getting a divorce.” “Oh.” I replied. The sun was getting low and I decided to head home. I climbed into my truck and fastened my seatbelt for a ride home. I drove through city and the lights of the city shined brightly. With the noise of busy people and cars stuck in traffic. I had decided to take a different road home. Then all of sudden I had another flash of memory hit me, it showed two cars colliding and metal flying everywhere with people screaming. Then all of a sudden a car came flying down the road. I realized it was the same car that was in my memory. So quickly jerked the steering wheel and slammed on the brakes, barely missing the rogue car. I wonder why they were traveling so fast. Day: 10 So far I have been doing great in school and me and my friends have grown closer. Though memories of 2017 and buildings being blasted to pieces keep coming up in my head, and followed by a painful headache. I have a feeling these occurrences mean something but what? Anyway it was the weekend and I decided to go hang with Cassandra and Connor at the mall. When I stepped through the sliding doors leading into the mall, I saw Cassandra sitting down at a cafe on the first floor. She turned her head and smiled at me and I walked over to her. “Hey!” She said. “Hey.” I replied. “So where's Connor?” I asked. “Oh he’s decided not to come because of the whole divorce thing.” Replied Cassandra. “Oh, he must be really upset.” I replied. Me and Cassandra walked around the mall for a while and went into the stores and little shops set up around the place. The mall had 4 floors and a huge glass ceiling. The next shop we went to was a jewelry shop with shiny diamonds and jewelry in glass containers. “Hey look at that!” Said Cassandra as she pointed at a huge diamond, “wow, why isn't that thing kept in a container it's, it's just right out in the open.” I said. Then a flash occurred again, I saw a man stealing a diamond. When I came back to my senses I looked around the shop. “Hey, do you see that guy over there?” I said quietly. “Yeah, he looks a little suspicious.” Replied Cassandra. The man was walking around the shop “examining” the jewelry. He was stout and looked as if he were mean as bear. “I think he's going to steal that diamond.” I said. “I don't know Pete, I mean you can't judge a book by its cover.” Replied Cassandra. I then looked into the future and saw that he when he stole it, he would take off running and take a left. Then he would run down the escalator and run out the doors and leave with the diamond.
“Ok, look Cassandra he is going to steal the diamond.” I said. “What!, but how do you know?” Replied Cassandra. “I will explain later, but listen to what I say.” I said. “Ok, when you exit the shop go left and by some marbles. When you buy the marbles place them on the ground. Then I want you to alert the police and tell them there has been a robbery.” I said. “Look I think your over-” she began to say. “Just do it!” I yelled. Cassandra quickly ran to the marble shop and scattered the assorted marbles on the floor. Then the man grabbed the diamond and made a run for it just like I predicted. Then the alarms in the store went off. Cassandra quickly alerted the police and the robber tripped on the marbles and the diamond slipped out of his hand and slid across the floor. I picked up the diamond and the police officers took the robber away. “Thank you for you service.” Thanked the officers. “Anytime.” I replied. “Ok you have some explaining to do.” Said Cassandra. I bought Cassandra a drink and we sat down and talked about what just happened. “Ok, how did you know that was going to happen?” Asked Cassandra. “Luck?” I said. “No, you knew where he was going to go and everything!” Replied Cassandra. “Ok, I can see the future...” I said. “What? Haha! You kidding right?” Said Cassandra. “No, I'm serious.” I replied. Her face changed from laughing to a serious look. “Really?” She said. “Really.” I replied. Her face lit up in amazement as well as disbelief. “Wow! That's amazing!” She said. “Yeah, but it sometimes sucks.” I said. “How?” She asked. “When I was little, I always knew what I would get for Christmas and my birthday. It was never a surprise.” I said. “Yeah I guess it can suck in some ways.” Replied Cassandra. It was getting late and me and Cassandra decided to go home. So we gave each other a hug and left the mall.
