LUXE DESIGN

Scan Design
Forty years ago, Preben and Lis Knudsen moved to Miami from Denmark to open Scan Design. It’s now the largest contemporary-furniture chain in Florida. The Knudsens credit the success of Scan Design to their fiercely loyal customer base—some of whom are third-generation patrons. “The furniture we offer is chosen with care and passion; if we don’t love a piece of furniture, we won’t have it in our stores,” says Preben. The family’s love affair with unique furniture keeps business growing as they continue to sell fine, contemporary pieces. 3025 Northeast 163rd Street, North Miami, 305-944-8080; scandesign.com.
