Role:  Access  Database  Designer  -­  Rathmines  Pembroke  Community  Partnership   What's  Involved?  Look  at  existing  access  database.  Design  new  database  based  on  need.Train  workers  on  new   database.   Where:  11  Wynnefield  Road,  Rathmines,  Dublin  6.  When:  3  hours  a  week       Role:  Film  Coordinator   -­  Stepping  Stone     What's  Involved?  The  role  of  the  Co-­‐ordinator  would  include  •  Building  up  the  identity  of  Stepping  Stone  OPEN   CINEMA  by  o  Creating  and  maintaining  contacts  with  services  for  the  marginalise  o  Promoting  Stepping  Stone  OPEN   CINEMA  within  other  services  o  Organising  and  co-­‐ordinating  leaflet  drops  •  Developing  relationships  with  film  and   media  members  •  Recruit  guest  speakers  or  trainers  for  screenings  or  workshops  •  To  recruit  and  manage   volunteers.  Volunteers  will  assist  with  promotion  of  service  and  running  of  the  weekly  screening  events  •  To  assist   the  film  club  members  to  programme  the  four  film  seasons  •  To  build  a  programme  of  workshops  and  skills   development  for  year  two  with  the  aim  of  creating  a  short  film.  •  To  work  with  Stepping  Stone  staff  members   Where:  Dublin  8  and  film  screening  location  When:  12  hours  a  week  for  one  year     Role:  Biology/  Maths  Grind  Tutor  -­  SWICN  Computer  Clubhouse   What's  Involved?  A  Grinds  Tutor  focusing  in  Biology  or  Maths  is  needed  to  help  several  secondary  students  with   their  Leaving  Certificate  preparation.  A  commitment  of  1  hour  per  week  between  4  and  7pm,  Monday  through   Thursday  is  required.   Where:  Rainsford,  Dublin  8  When:  1  hour  a  week     Role:  Communications  Support  Volunteer  -­  Mark  Pollock  Trust   What's  Involved: Create  and  manage  the  Trust’s  internal  communications  programme  in  the  lead  up  to  the  Run  in   the  Dark  events  2013.  ***Tasks  Include:  •  Develop  and  implement  internal  communications  strategy  from  weekly   meetings  with  Mark  Pollock  and  the  head  of  Fundraising  •  Liaise  with  each  chair  and  their  community  via  weekly   emails  and  calls  to  gather  updates  on  engagement  and  activities  in  each  city.  Share  news  and  targets  from  Run  in  the   Dark  HQ  •  Report  back  to  HQ  with  news  updates  from  each  Run  location  •  Construct  and  manage  weekly  email  with   league  tables  from  each  Run  location   Where:  Dublin  2  When:  10  hours  a  week  for  6  months     Role:  Services  Support  (SHORT  TERM)  -­  ActionAid  Ireland   What's  Involved: As  an  ActionAid  Supporter  Services  Volunteer,  you  will  join  a  small,  enthusiastic  team  making   customer  service  calls  to  our  supporters  to  remind  them  to  return  the  ‘Taxback  Good  and  updating  supporter   records  when  forms  are  returned.  Calls  will  take  place  in  the  evenings  over  a  4  week  period.  We  ask  that  you  would   be  available  Mon-­‐Thurs  between  5  and  7pm.   Where:  Parnell  Square,  Dublin  1  When:  8  hours  a  week  for  1  month     Role:  Shop  Assistant/Manager  -­  Down  Syndrome  Ireland   What's  Involved: Sorting,  pricing,  ironing,  hanging,  merchandising,  displays  and  ensuring  that  stock  is  put  on  sale   in  perfect  condition.   Where:  GPO  Arcade,  Dublin  1When:  4  hours  a  week  Mon-­‐Sat             For  further  information:       Dublin  City  South  Volunteer  Centre     T:  +353  1  473  7482     E:  info@volunteerdublin.ie     W:  www.volunteerdublincitysouth.ie
