Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

9 August 2013

On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him (Jn 7:37, 38). Eid al-fitr, the Feast of Breaking the Fast, begins on Wednesday evening. Let's pray that, even as they celebrate, Muslims would question their position with God. May they find their answer in Jesus.*

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students and Missionaries

WAAST: A new semester has just begin and Jumaa Prayer meetings have resumed. Please pray that the Lord will move in these prayer times as we intercede, that He will increase our burden and our love for Muslims, and help these pastors to take this burden home and raise up more intercessors within their churches. SENEGAL: On July 15, local authorities visited the Obadiah Project, run by Brazilian missionary Jose Dilson, claiming that papers the parents had signed were invalid and threatening to move the 12 boys who are cared for there. We thank God that to date they have not returned and no action has been taken. Pray that these boys will be well grounded in Jesus and that His hand will be on them and this ministry. TURKEY: Pray for the family and Turkish friends of an American missionary family in Istanbul. When the husband was diagnosed with cancer, the family felt led to walk through this experience before their Muslim friends, dying out loud to show the hope and grace Jesus gives. This courageous man went to be with the Lord this past Saturday, 3 August. May the Holy Spirit use this to draw Muslims to Him, and provide supernatural comfort and strength to the wife and children. In a touching video, the family shares their burden for the Turks: http://vimeo.com/68882388.

In the News
Pray for African Christians who are being kidnapped and held for ransom by Bedouins in the Sinai Peninsula. Many are tortured and even crucified in mockery of their faith. Pray that the Lord will protect and strengthen them. May their captors be touched by their lives, to the glory of God. See bit.ly/1cqVkLs.

From Global Initiative**

Pray for millions of Muslims attending mosques today in Iran. For more information on Iran's Muslims and prayer requests, see bit.ly/12XNNk3.

For Muslim Women***

As Ramadan ends, pray for Muslim women and girls who anticipate the flurry of celebrations as they prepare for many visits and a lot of entertaining. Pray that conversations will be directed to searches for and discoveries of Truth. Pray that Muslim women will be particularly receptive to the testimonies of Christian friends who celebrate with them.
