Local PBA Honors Hamilton Honda Co-Owners for Community Work

Hamilton, NJ June 17, 2013 Hamilton Honda co-owners Jessie Armstead and Mike Saporito received honorary lifetime membership in the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) Local 66 for their charitable work in the community and support of the local police department. The former New York Giants Pro Bowler and automotive veteran were nominated by Sergeant David Schultz, founder of Ryans Quest. Dave Schultz nominated Jessie and Mike because of how instrumental they have been to his charity, said Steven Gould, president of PBA Local 66, in a letter to Hamilton Honda. Add that to everything they do for the Township and it was a no brainer to choose them. Saporito added: It is truly an honor for Jessie and me to earn a lifetime membership to the local PBA. The men and women part of that organization do so much for our community every day, so we try to help them as often as possible. Every year, each PBA in New Jersey is allowed to honor two civilians with lifetime honorary memberships. Armstead and Saporito received their membership at the Hamilton Township Police PBA Local 66s annual Police Awards and Retirement Dinner On June 14 at The Stone Terrace by John Henrys. The special night honored all of the organizations retirees for the year, as well as current officers and civilians who have been chosen to receive awards for various acts throughout the year.

Sergeant Schultz and his wife Maria founded Ryan's Quest in honor of their son. The organization was established to increase awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy with the purpose of allocating funds for research that has the greatest potential for finding a cure or treatment for the disease. Ryans Quest is primarily focused on supporting research for near-term, potential therapeutics and better testing platforms (tools) for development of Duchenne muscular dystrophy compounds. The organization also helps support families that are enrolled in clinical trials. Hamilton Honda has been a longtime supporter of Ryans Quest, most recently as a sponsor of 2013 Golf Outing for Ryans Quest on May 9. In February, the dealership sponsored the Ryans Quest Annual Valentine Ball held at the Westin Princeton. With over 500 attendees on hand, Armstead and Pierce received the Ryan's Quest Hero Awards for their consistent support of the organizations mission.
