A Word From Your Coach
You probably do not realize how many goals you set and complete during this time of year. You have your vacations to schedule, gifts to purchase, reports due, dinners to cook, family to RSVP unless they are RSVPing you then that is a whole different world. If you could stand back and see all the energy you expend getting all these things done, you will probably amaze yourself. I have heard many complain how they could not complete Goal X. They have made reasons and excuses and wonder why they are where they are. But yet, if they were to look at themselves during this time of year, they will probably not believe what they have done. Completing your goals requires you to manage three key points. These are obstacles, time and motivation. The diagram depicts motivation as being the base of the model. This is because without the motivation, you will not be able to handle the time or obstacles to accomplish your goal. Motivation is your base, it is what will give you the will to overcome your obstacles. It will also empower you to manage your time correctly. When you have all three in control, as you can see from the model, it will allow you to stay focused around your goal. Begin to lose control of any of three, and the others will soon follow. So whenever you wonder why things aren’t getting done. Use the goal model to see where things are breaking down. 

With ten months behind us for 2007, we will soon look forward to the frights of Halloween, the spoils of Thanksgiving, the joy Christmas and the happiness of New Years. For many, this will probably be the busiest time of the year. It will probably be the craziest time of the year as well.

Coaches Column:
Carlos R. “Ni Ki” Cruz Jr. Can you tell me where you will be ten years from today. More than likely, with a certitude of 99.99%, the answer is no. I’ll leave a .01% for anything that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected. We will call this .01% the exception to the rule. I’m sure you can assert an interesting and convincing argument of where you would like to be in ten years. But if you examine the phrases, you will see a big difference between “will be” and “like to be”. Can you tell me where you were in your life ten years ago? More than likely, with a certitude of 99.99%, the answer is yes. I am sure there will be little arguing where you were in your life all those years ago. You can probably recount the events and include all the relevant characteristics, and qualities identifying each highlight. All this with clarity, color and total confidence. Imagine that, with total clarity and confidence. Don’t you wish you can describe your future with that much accuracy and ease. I’m not at this point in time going to say whether it is or isn’t. when you look back? Hopefully you don’t see the same person today as you did ten years ago. If you feel that you do, how does that make you feel? Who cares, the real question is what are you going to do about it! Do you want to be the same person five years from now! Or do you want to be someone who succeeds and inspires. As you have observed, I have dispensed more questions than I have bestowed my opinions. But in order to elicit and obtain some information to exploit or make use of, the asking of these questions, and more, are very important. In order for you to be conscious enough for the right change, you need to ask not just any question, but the right questions. And asking these questions is more of an art form. By asking yourself the correct questions, you will have a greater chance of getting an answer which will allow you to make a difference. You are asking a question for a purpose. The purpose could be to discover what progress you are making, or what your successes or failures are. And you have to be very careful of the questions you ask. Ask the question with an imprecise method, and you can do more harm than good. As I said, asking questions is a form of art a type of science. For example, if you had to describe yourself to someone in a letter, which one of these questions would help you to describe yourself better, Who am I or What do I stand for. If you are trying to manage your time better, which question would elicit the most effective or desirable answer from yourself: What will I do with my time or What matter the most to me at this point in time. Questioning is an art, so start learning how to ask the right questions.

Reflection in the Mirror

In the blink of an eye, years can pass by. And it isn’t until you have that abrupt moment realizing how much time has passed. Do you see the same person

Today, right here, right now, how do you envision yourself? What do you imagine are your future possibilities? What is the perception of yourself at point zero, today. Do you see yourself in a position or a time in your life where you want to be. Has life become so easy for you that you don’t need to move forward. Have you become so comfortable with the way things have been all you do is just fantasize or hallucinate about moving forward. Or have you created anchors in your life which prevent you from moving forward. Living an easy and comfortable life prevents you from creating an end goal for yourself and allows your surrounding environment to create

Your Monthly Assessment
The wheel of life allows you to determine whether you are focusing too much on one part of your life and so neglecting others. When life is busy, or all your energy is focused on a special project, it’s all too easy to find yourself “off balance”, not paying enough attention to important areas of your life. While you need to have drive and focus if you’re going to get things done, taking this too far can lead to frustration and intense stress.

Decide your degree of satisfaction from 1 to 10 and mark it on the relevant spoke. Now draw a line to join your degree marks together. How balanced is your life? Which areas make you happy, satisfied and fulfilled? Which areas need improvement?

Mo

ney

Each segment of the wheel represents one area of your life. Consider each section - how satisfied are you with all these areas of your life? Are you putting as much time, energy and attention into these areas as you would like? You need to be totally honest with yourself because no-one will see this except you!

Fun &

Your result shows you the degree to which you are satisfied with your own level of balance in your life. How round is it? The rounder the wheel, the more balanced your life. If this was a literal wheel on a car or bicycle, how smooth would the ride be? Pick one or two of the sections that you’d most like to see change in.

True Mobility on Your Lap
Cingular 3G Sierra Wireless AirCard 875
Looking to extend your wireless workflow into the field without having to worry about finding the socalled “free” Wi-Fi connection. Compatible with Windows and Mac (through third party software) based systems, the AirCard 875 is the latest PC Card in a long line of high-quality AirCard PC Cards developed by Sierra Wireless offered by the Cingular wireless network. A Type II PC Card with a fixed antenna, the AirCard 875 supports theoretical data rates up to 3.6 Mbps on HSDPA networks. For those heavy techie geek types, the AirCard 875 provides high-speed worldwide roaming with triband HSDPA/UMTS and quad-band Class 12 EDGE/GPRS connectivity. You can send and receive data in real-time sending and receiving those large emails while on the road or out in the middle of nowhere. And the AirCard 875 is compatible with networks in over 115 countries, which includes many 3G networks. Whether I’m doing consulting work and have to get that analysis report to the client, or trying to get an on-location 30 second raw video clip to the client for review, the AirCard 875 has provided nothing but constant reliability. There was no need for me to search for a hot spot and pray it was either free or high speed. I just plug the card into my Powerbook and fire up third party connection software and connected to the Internet without any issues. I have also traveled for 45 minutes in the Bay Area CALTRAIN with only one bump in my connection. The AirCard comes with its own SIM card with an attached phone number. Activation is quick and easy. I had purchased my card from the Cingular store and had it activated there via the phone. By the time I got home to plug in my card, I was able to connect. Of course this was after I completed the software configuration. But that too was virtually automated, no input needed on my end. Just click OK. Without contract the 875 will run you $349.99, or $149.99 with a 2-year service agreement, and you may be able to get an additional $100 rebate when you sign up for unlimited data service. For PC users, you will receive your Cingular Communication Manager CD which will take care of connecting to the wireless network with ease. It will also allow you to upgrade the firmware for your card. For Mac users, fear not, a third party solution awaits you. Thanks to Nova Media Mobile Data Solutions (www.novamedia.de), you can now connect your Mac OS X to the Cingular wireless network for 75 euro. As soon as your card is detected by

and end goal for you. And anchors are distractions in life which prevent you from seeing an end goal and moving forward. You can’t live life on your own terms if you refuse to grow, if you refuse to move. It is also very easy to get caught up in our lives and often with the anchors, difficulties, dilemmas and confusions. This only makes it seem more impossible to know what to do or how to advance with your life. Have you asked yourself what holds you back? Have you asked yourself what you are afraid of? Sometimes you’ll look at your past and you will think you are seeing your future. That needs to stop. If you look at your past, for any reason, it should be to measure how far you have come. To learn from any successes or mistakes you have made and to build upon them. Learning, as well as living is continual. It will never end, and it never should end. You should always work on evaluating yourself either every so often or after a major event in your life. During this time you don’t have to do any deep Socratic thinking. All you have to do is see where you are, where you were and the path that got you to this point. That is it, three simple steps, find two points in your life and analyze the path taken. It shouldn’t take you more than a couple of hours to really go over this stage of your life. The reason why it may take a couple of hour is

because this will give you time not only to reflect on the past but to prepare or make any adjustments for the future.

Meaning and Understanding

The solutions to your problems or dilemmas are always in front of you. The answers were never purposely hidden from you. The cunningness of this skillful act is knowing how to correctly word your questions in order to find the solution to help you move forward. To help you take further charge of your life. I’m not going to tell you “to” take charge of I highly recommend the Sierra Wireless AirCard your life. Because you are already in charge of your 875 to anyone looking for that complete freedom of life. You are always in charge of your life. Whether mobility.  or not you just chose to either do nothing with it or consent to someone else to take charge of your life. You chose to stay the same because you may think there is some external force which prevents you from doing what you want to truly be. You chose to stay the same because of your fear. You chose to stay the same because it is easy. You cannot fail if you do not try, nor can you succeed in obtaining success. 
