Apr 29, '09 10:51 AM for everyone Mark 16:14 “Jesus appeared to the Eleven…he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe th those who had seen him after he had risen.” Don’t Be Stubborn – Just Believe! On one hand, you can understand the Eleven’s unbelief with the others’ testimony of seeing Jesus (whom they saw die right in front of them) alive. [Fact of life: When one is dead, he stays dead.] d, On the other hand, this is Jesus. And seeing the dead be raised to life is not new to them. They’re the Eleven, they saw Jesus raise Lazarus back to life! And besides, Jesus told them that He will rise again, didn’t’ he? So the lesson here is: Don’t doubt Jesus. What He says, it will happen. And don’t forget what you’ve witnessed, what God did for you in the past – the miracles, the answered prayers. Just as He saw you through back then, He will do the same today. o matter how impossible or how inconceivable the answer is, JUST BELIEVE! Don’t be stubborn. is, ü -- Devotional Thoughts / April 29, 2009 Tags: preaching, church, wise words 2 comments share

Apr 23, '09 12:31 PM for everyone They're life's own permanent markers, mar marking out the painful moments you've had. Some people spend lots of money just to have them taken away while some are proud of them (just like Tahlia, the burn survivor in ANTM's cycle 12). Scars For the more optimistic ones, it gives hope - that the wounds you thought were too painful to bear will, like all the others, be just that, a scar that will serve as a reminder of what happened. It, too, shall pass. Others, who cannot afford to spend money for skin graft procedures or what have you, just have to live with it and be reminded that "Hey, I've been through the pain but I was able to endure it." They may even look at it with some sort of fondness. Like I do with mine.

The scars are, of themselves, memorable enough - how you got them, what you were doing when you had them, and all that. But the people who showed concern for me when the wounds were st fresh, the ones who still treated me lovingly, the ones who comforted me and coaxed me out of crying hysterically (which I used to do because big wounds + blood really just freaked me out) made them all the more memorable. Five scars in my body come with their own stories. Some were inflicted to their me by disease, a few by my friends, and a couple others by my own clumsiness.

Scar #1: Chickenpox Scar

Scar #2: Face Scar (from playing Paunahan sa Takbuhan) Scar #3: Arm/Knee Scar (from the same game, different da day) Scar #4: Elbow Scar (which is now an obvious keloid - from R who pushed me at Subic's slide when I wasn't ready yet) Scar #4: Shin Scar (double bed incident) - not really a visible scar, but the "uka" on my shin is proof of it) I'll blog more about these 5 scars sometime. Right now, I'm just typing as ese fast as my thoughts can go.ü Some scars, like scar #5, can't be seen by the human eye. And oh, how long this blog will take if I enumerate all my unseen (emotional) scars, though I'm sure most people wil have longer lists than mine. will But the scars that really matter are the ones that were born by my one True Love. Christ bore the numerous scars for sin & death, all for us to be saved. And that's the scar that nothing, not even all the money in this world, can ever erase. Those scars are permanent, as in PERMANENT d, permanent, reminders of His great love for humanity. Oh how precious, how awesome is His sacrifice. Thank you Lord Jesus, the scars you bore just bought me a ticket to eternal life. Tags: ramblings 0 comments share

10 of My Best Childhood Memories

Apr 19, '09 6:08 AM for everyone

Meet Zarah/Shobe/Budong - isang masayahing bata. May pagka pagka-mahiyain (kuno) pero pag hindi nakatingin ang magulang, maloko rin. Nang Nang-aaway ng katulong, nangaaway ng kalaro. Pilyang bata talaga.

1. Holy Week retreats w/ churchmates. Mega bonding time w/ fellow Sunday schoolers. 2. Love-hate relationship w/ my playmates: shouting "TA*!!!" at the top of my voice to my frenemy An-an who lives just across our building. We'll have a showdown at who shouts the T word the loudest, taking our places at our respective "territories" (our building's balcony vs. theirs). After the said showdown, we'll be friends again, raiding her mom's makeup kit, playing taguan and habulan. Then someone will get hurt in the process and the showdown will start once again.

3. Storytime w/ my mom & dad. For no apparent reason, the story of The Swineherd (Hans Christian Andersen) and how my dad relayed the story to me just got stuck in my mind. I'll forever remember how we were in bed and he was telling me the story and I was just so engrossed with it. But when I think about it, I don't really like that story at all. I prefer the story of The Snow Queen. Hehehe.

4. Annual family vacation @ Baguio. OMG I just can't forget about my Coney Island moments! The ice cream, oh my! Too bad wla na sha ngayon. Huhuhu.

5. Sunday school & DVBS moments. My "kiddie barkada" really knew how to have fun. I miss my pals, the Barrozos/Cabuangs... Good thing the Tans and the Angliongtos are still here. ü

6. Badminton phase w/ my other kiddie barkada (my kapitbahays). We played at our building's penthouse (5th flr). Everytime the shuttlecock flies over the balcony and onto the ground flr, somene has to go down and get it. And being the amateur that we were (still is, hehehe), we never completed a round.

7. Having a mini sari-sari store a few doors from ours (we're in 301, they were in 305) This old Chinese couple used to sell Nissin's instant noodles, the one that comes in the blue (for beef flavor) and red (for chicken flavor) packaging. Yes, the original one. Not the "Nissin noodles" sold nowadays. Sobrang ibang-iba na talaga ang texture ng noodles noon sa ngayon (nyak feeling noodle expert hahaha). They also sold Coca-cola. The bottled ones. Bottled Coke tastes better than the ones in plastic bottles. Seriously.

was 8. Boracay family outing. Yeah, I've been to Bora... when I w too young to remember it. Haha. I remember stuff, but they are the memories that you have to delete from your memory bank. Medjo R R-rated kasi sha eh. Haha.

9. Family reunions every December. I loved family reunions, not just because of the food and the gifts (shempre kasama yon! hehe), but mostly e because it is the only time in the year that we see each other (relatives on my father's side). I loved seeing new additions to the family every year. Ang dami namin, in fact, that even now, I can't keep track of all my cousins's and pamangkins' names / ages. Medjo memory gap pa naman ako. My goodness. I hope I remember my inaanaks as well. Medjo dumadami narin sila ha. Hehehe.

10. Bible study/Piano lessons every Thursday. Though I dreaded my piano lessons back then (because I rarely practiced), I loved the Bible ck study that came afterwards. FYI, my piano teacher was the daughter of my one and only ninong (who's now with the Lord). She's really, really nice. Never shouted at me, never slapped my hand or anythin horrifying like anything the ones you usually hear of piano teachers. And she and my ninong (who hails from Montalban, Rizal) came EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT, RAIN OR SHINE, to minister to our family. Their persistent discipling produced a harvest, w/ our family now be being actively involved in the ministry as well. Praise God for Ate Abigail & Ninong Senyong. ü Tags: friends, ramblings, family 4 comments share

Apr 18, '09 11:02 AM for everyone Despite last night's (and this morning's) bout with discouragement, cell ght's group today turned out good. We had a shaky start but picked up well in the end.
Today at cellgroup We celebrated Lawrence's graduation with a Red Ribbon cake (mega promote haha!!). While eating, we placed him in the hot seat. He shared to us the struggles he had during his entire college journey (UST . Guitar.Music Education - UE Fine Arts) and how he was able to overcome them, of course through God's grace. Afterwards, we got around talking about our own strugg in life. Praise struggles

God because as always, His timing is perfect. Yesterday, for no other reason but boredom, I decided to browse in my podcast collection. I , totally forgot all about my Max Lucado podcasts. When I saw them, I was led by the Holy Spirit to watch this particular episode " "Facing Your Giants." At that time, I didn't think of it as a God God-ordained circumstance, but this morning as I was doing the church bulletin and at the same time preparing for cell group, I discovered that our reading for next week is about the very same topic as in the podcast. Coincidence?? Nah!! More like God-orchestrated. Praise God! And so we watched Ptr. Max's very short but anointed and beautifully worded preaching and we all got blessed and encouraged. God is BIGGER IGGER than any problems! Praise God!

♥ I encourage you to watch this video and be blessed. ♥

Firebrands Youth Leaders Retreat April 5-6, 2009

Apr 7, '09 7:54 AM for everyone

experience: What a blessing to experience -> Filipino hospitality at its best > The core people of Valenzuela Full Gospel Family Center (Ptr. Jessie/Sis.Bheng, Ptr. Jeiho/Sis. Jean, Sis. Lina, Sis. Flor, etc.) exemplifies hospitality in its finest form. We didn't have to ask for anything because everything was already thought of and provided (by them) beforehand from the drinking water,to our breakfast (hot pandesal and butter), even our merienda (homemade palitao & refreshing iced tea - which is HEAVENLY after fasting a meal. hehehe). These people are just so very nice, it's always a treat just being with them. God, may you bless them more and more for their kindness and selflessness!

What a blessing to see: > -> Growing chain of influence. I'm so blessed to see the kids who have been under my class in Sunday School and in DVBS passionately in love with Jesus and are now discipling and leading other kids to Him as well. Truly, this is discipleship

at work. That's why during our team building activity, I said THANK YOU to Kuya Pat who has influenced me greatly in my spiritual growth. He was already leading the team ever since I progressed into the youth group of Binondo. And during all these years he was able to teach me a lot of things - leadership principles, events planning and organization, keyboard knowledge and techniques, etc. etc. Kaya naman, kuya Pat, thank you talaga. ü

What a blessing to know: -> That in my own quiet (daw!ü) way, I have also inspired the people I've been in contact with. But with all the affirmation I got (we all got our own dose of affirmation, causing this activity to last 3 hours ü), the one that really struck me was from Kuya Pat (again). He likened me to my mom. I know (because it's very obvious) that I'm more like my dad than my mom. But to have someone I look up to see in me the very qualities that I admire my mom for (steadfastness, being "low key", humility), it's such a blessing to know this.

Team Building activity Praise God for the things I've learned, things I've seen, and things I've experienced during this retreat. Lord, all these wouldn't have been possible if not for your grace that has been sustaining me all these years. I'm doing this FOR YOU Lord. May you continue to use me to influence others. I am a willing vessel Lord, use me. Amen. Tags: church, firebrands, youth ministry, carecell 0 comments share

Please take note of the fact that it was NOT my idea to pose like this. The photographer coerced me to put my arms around him ( (wahaha!! ü), and as ,

Lawrence seemed to like it (obviously by the big smile on his cute totoy face.. hehehe), I had no choice but to comply. (Palusot! Hahaha!!!) * Kimmie: "Para kayong si Boy at si Inday ah." Hahaha! Tags: out with lawrence, maarte 7 comments share

You are precise, orderly, and realistic. You tend to get to the point and get things done. Difficult, detailed work is easy for you. You take things step by step. Time limits aren't a problem for you either. You work well with deadlines. What does drive you crazy is any sort of task that isn't precisely laid out. You don't like anything to be ambiguous. You prefer to deal with the facts at hand.

You Are a Realist

You don't see the glass as half empty or half full. You see what's exactly in the glass. You never try to make a bad situation seem better than it is... You Will Be a Cool Parent

You Are a Ring Finger

You are romantic, expressive, and hopeful. You see the best in everything. You are very artistic, and you see the world as your canvas. You are also drawn to the written word. Inventive and unique, you are often away in your own inner world. You get along well with: The Pinky Stay away from: The Index Finger

Goodbye Colorpoint, no thanks to you!

Sep 23, '05 10:13 AM for everyone

I’ve had my creative shot taken at Colorpoint this morning. The service was a big disappointment for me. Frank and I were the only customers there and I noticed that they didn’t care much about us. They didn’t work as hard as e they would if they had a full house. I seriously believe that even if we were the only people there, they should give us the attention we deserve! We’re paying them (lavishly) for that! ’re Now I can only speak for myself, since I was the only female customer there and they had to work twice as hard for female-customer female customers because of the hair & make make-up. In fairness, I don’t have any complaints about my make up artist (Angie) because he went all out to “pretty make-up “pretty-fy” me

(as Sir Orsal would say ). The amount P350 for hair and make up plus the “underground P100 fee” for my use make-up f of the artist’s costumes and accessories were all worth it. What really disappointed me was the know-it-all photographer who doesn’t know anything. Before I continue, I wish to inform you, my dear readers, that I was a Greek goddess in my creative shot. Having said that, let’s go back to the story. Here’s what happened: I entered Studio A. Photographer: Sige hija, maupo ka na diyan. Paano ba ang gusto mo? , Zarah: Kayo nalang po magsabi sakin kung pano magpopose. P: Hindi pwede yon. That’s why it’s called a creative shot. Mag-emote-emote ka nalang diyan. emote I was really getting pissed off because I could see that he was eager to be over with the shoot but he wasn’t willing to help me think of a “creative pose.” Good thing, Angie was there and he neutralized the tense atmosphere in the studio. He helped me think of how to pose and even put in some encouraging words for me. I know that he knew I was already irritated with the photographer. After the shoot, the photographer allowed me to see my shots as well as the shots of the other customers. While letting me see the creative shots of other people: Photographer: O tignan mo, ang gagaling nila magpose o. Sila lang ang nag-isip niyan. May dala pa silang isip props. I just looked at the pictures; I didn’t say anything because I knew I was being insulted. es; Photographer (while showing me a picture of a girl with a “flying kiss while kiss-tweetums” pose): O, ganyan ang creative ): shot. Hindi yung ngingiti lang sa camera. I was so pissed off; I hastily said thanks to him and left the studio. As a photographer, it’s good to let the models pose and emote, if they had any idea what to do But I didn’t have do. any idea, so naturally, I sought him for help. A photographer is like a director of a movie. Just as the director , directs the actors on how to act, the photographer directs the models on how to pose and what to do in front of the camera. And besides, where can you see a GREEK GODDESS pose as a TEE Y Y-BOPPER, PACUTE WOMA ? Right? Normally, goddesses in Greek mythology look serious and decent. If they do smile, they do it with poise. Not as a pa-cute, Star-struck finalist struck finalist-like poses. Needless to say, I won’t be going back to that studio anymore. If I do go back, it’s only to get my pictures. After that, it’s “Goodbye Colorpoint, no thanks to you!”

Mapalad ka RIZAL, andyan ka sa piso; mapalad ka RIZAL, ikaw aming hero; mapalad ka RIZAL, ikay may monumento; pero malas mo RIZAL, t_t_ mo SEME TO!

i received this text "quote" last night from someone.. i dont know who the sender is but he/she really got a sermon from me. i was so pissed!!! they didnt respect RIZAL! helo?!? sending green jokes is already bad as it is, but to include our NATIONAL HERO in a green joke?? where are their manners? didnt they study ethics in school? character education?? values??? whoever made up this "quote" really needs to go back to preschool and learn some manners. basic respect for our national heroes should be automatic in us.. do they think they're cool just because they're automatic sending green jokes?? well I DONT THINK SO!! they're PATHETIC! whoever is reading this blog right now, please be responsible in sending text messages. dont give the ff. excuses, "it's just a quote" / "i just forwarded it to you", because you can make a difference. DELETE IT right away. dont be a part of sending pathetic, disrespectful, and nonsense messages because it's a total waste of time. remember, the messages you send shows a part of who you are. here's the rest of our conversation: zarah: yuck! wlang breeding. pati national hero bnabastos. mahya nga kayo. . ???: ay kowt lang po un.. pnsa lang skin... cnu ang wlang breading? xncia na ha.. prang artista ah zarah: um.. excuse me i spelled it as BREEDI G not BREADI G. ano ka MA OK?! bwahaha. :) BREEDI ay bka d mu gets. hehe. bsta nxt tym respeto lang s mga bayani. obviously i'm so pissed...

so write

Aug 26, '05 9:59 AM for everyone

i attended the "SO WRITE" writing seminar this afternoon at school... daphne oseña was there as one of the speakers... i learned a lot from it, though i felt a little uncomfortable coz people kept teasing me because i was taking down notes during the seminar. i cant understand why people bug me for taking down notes.. it's a SEMINAR after all! what's the point of attending a seminar when you'll just forget about what you've learned after a when few hours?? right? maybe they just attended that seminar just so they can have something to add to their "list of seminars attended" in their resumes.

well, i dont care what they say. i feel restless if i dont write down what i've learned. it's already a habit -- a good habit, if i might add. there are times when i dont study for a quiz but still manage to pass (and get a high grade at that) just because i remembered what i've written during the discussion. writing, especially taking diown notes, works wonders.. try it! my incompetent photography professor

Aug 9, '05 11:47 AM for everyone

i was excited to learn that we'll be having a photography class this semester.. unfortunately, our professor is incompetent and lazy... we are not getting our money's worth. he was absent for weeks.. we only had 2 meetings with him during the prelim period.. then he had the e nerve to ask us for a makeup class which was a total waste of our time.. we were supposed to have this class from 9:30-11:30 am... when he arrived it was already past 10 am.. then he started 11:30 discussing the lesson at 10:45 am.. the most irritating part about this is that he asked us to submit contact prints for our prelim exam when we didnt even have a hands-on session with him on teaching us how to use our cameras... how are we supposed to know how to use the camera correctly!?!?!? maybe he doesnt realize that discussing the lesson is very different from the actual, practical lessons. needless to say, my session notes are useless. eds and i went around binondo this afternoon to shoot images for our prelim exam... we had it images developed and we were very disappointed when we saw our work.. half of the 36 36-shots roll of film we used were underexposed.. all our indoor shots cannot be seen.. i give

the "credit" to our "beloved professor!!!!!"

i'm starting to feel the pressure (1/4 fun & excitement + 3/4 stress, misery & hardwork) of my senior year in college... i had my grad pic taken last week.. fees (yearbook, etc.) are starting to d roll one after the other... and now, the THESIS issue.. thank God i have my friends as my groupmates! we have to start our thesis from scratch since the one we were working on since 3rd year had to be disregarded (i'd rather not talk about it).. there goes a semester of research... oh well, at least we have a more interesting topic now... a content analysis on the ABS ABS-CBN sitcom My Juan and Only... to be continued.......... 0 comments share

at the start of this school year, i started getting worried because i'm about to graduate this coming he march and yet i dont have an idea as to what career i want to venture in.... but after this BOOK OF HOPE experience, it finally came to me.. while walking along the streets of ongpin just after along BOH distribution in Patriotic, i realized that nothing in this world will give me satisfaction unless i use my gifts for GOD.. when am i most happy?? whenever i'm busy in ministry.. i find certain fulfillment and satisfa satisfaction in God's service that working in a secular job can never give me. maybe that's why i can't imagine myself doing anything outside church.. i dont know.. maybe i'm called to serve God full time time(???) 0 comments share

Book of Hope Distribution July 19, 2005 (Tuesday) 9:40 pm

Jul 21, '05 8:21 AM for everyone

Just came home from church. We had our Hopefest earlier this evening. It was fun! It was nice to see students from different schools gathered together to have fun with us and know Jesus. They were the ones who responded to our call for a gathering during Book of Hope Distribution

which started yesterday. As of now, we were able to visit 4 schools (MHCN, HCHS, Jin Nan Institute & Lorenzo Ruiz Academy). 26 students came. Tomorrow, Patrick, Sis. Lourdes & I, together with the team from America will go to Manila Patriotic. We were supposed to go there today but we ran a little late with our schedule so by the time we got there, it was already oday dismissal time for the morning classes (we only had permission to distribute BOH in the morning classes). Anyway, this experiece is really exciting! It's nice to go to different classrooms and see the students listen to you as you share your testimony of how the BOH has changed your life. For me, it was fun introducing the BOH to them because they are really interested in it, you can see it in their faces. Especially with the preschoolers and the elementary kids, it's such a rewarding ly experience just seeing them excited with the stories and activity pages inside the book. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to share His goodness and love with others!

yey! i hav a new book!!! haha.. i LOVE it!!!!! i learned, just after reading a few pages, the aha.. importance of the Old Testament -- Jesus and His disciples (along with the other believers) had only this (OT) as their Bible. they still had to write the New Testament (duh!?).. so it is just as important (if not more) to read and STUDY it....

my class schedules this sem are all PM classes (except for saturdays which start at 11 am).. this particular sched makes me lazy.. i get up at noon, go to school at 2 pm.. i get home late.. lawrence jokingly called me lazy.. hehe.. i'm not offended.. it's true.. in some ways i am lazy...but true.. today, i really really really am lazy.. i have a class at 3 but i'm still here at home writing this journal entry...i wont go to class.. it's our thesis class...we're not doing anything.. the prof is just discussing the different types of approaches we can apply regarding our thesis.. but since we're just going to do only one approach, which is context analysis, other discussions are irrelevant to our topic. and i think that this friday sched was just made for consultations, so after she finishes t with the discussion, we'll stop meeting regularly and just concentrate on doing our thesis..... 0 comments share

Jun 22, '05 11:15 PM for everyone Yesterday we had our Marriage and Family class. I didn’t like it, the professor was e contradicting his own words. His teaching was very confusing and if you’re not really grounded on God’s Word, you’ll be lost and swayed into believing these “lies.” Some things that really bothered me are the ff:
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY class' 1st meeting = DISASTER 1. He’s not married and yet, he’s teaching a MARRIAGE AND FAMILY class. How can you teach something that you don’t know? Kahit ano pang sabihin niya, wala parin siyang alam about marriage dahil hindi pa niya naexperience ito. He’s very bookish. All his knowledge about marriage he’s claiming to know all comes from a book. 2. He said “Marriage is a way to salvation.”

I don’t believe this because the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to Acts men by which we must be saved.”)
3. “Pornography is NOT immoral... “ He also said that married couples are allowed to watch X Xrated films because some use these films as an enhancement to their sexual act.

Pornography is pornography. You cannot give an excuse to something that is wrong. Sin is sin.
4. “Live-in relationship is okay as long as you get married after or as long as you are committed in to each other and it is a binding relationship.”

radictory Very contradictory to what he said about sex outside marriage being immoral and sex is for married couples only.
Obviously he’s not fit to teach this subject!!! 0 comments share

currently reading this book which johanssen gave to me for my birthday. so far, i learned that true love involves a choice and loving your future spouse does not begin after you get married. you must love him your entire life, meaning even if you havent met each other yet, you have to stay faithful, keep yourself pure (not just skin deep but pure in everything), and all that.

summer's almost over.. i'm glad i still have 1 week left of my vacation. i'm not yet ready to return to my classes.. just thinking about it bores me.. oh well, atleast when school starts, i'll have an allowance. this summer, i learned lots of things.. God has really dealt with my fears/weaknesses.. though i'm still in the process of improving myself. 1st lesson - i realized that i should not put my life's "anchor" on my friends but on God alone when they went to alone. palawan, i really felt left out, up to the point that i didnt want to go to church anymore. But God spoke to me and reminded me that i dont go to church just because my friends are there; the purpose of my attending church is o because i want to worship God, and Him alone alone. 2nd lesson - i learned to trust God with my ability in playing the keyboards . i felt so overwhelmed when i learned keyboards. that the two drummers at church together with lawrence the guitarist (hi lawrence!!! =p special mention ka pa! (hi haha) will be going to palawan. i freaked out, as in i really cant sleep because i thought that i cant pla the keyboard ) play without the drums. but since i had no choice, i learned to depend on God, i found out that before, i relied on my own, but really surrendering yourself to God will produce great and wonderful results results. 3rd lesson - from my ojt/summer job exp experience, i learned that you will really meet people that will irritate you. Your day turning out to be a good day will depend on how you react to these "irritants." 4th lesson - in relation to lesson #3, i learned that putting God as my first priority everyday makes the day easier ryday easier. yes, there will still be irritants around you, but you'll be able to deal with them properly if you connect yourself with God.

i reread this book while i was at the office since i had nothing to do. It was such a blessing because it reminded me of what God really has in store for my life. It reminded me to ask more from God because that's what He wants me to do. Jesus promised in Matthew 7:7 that if we ask, Matthew then it will be given to us. Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil. 1 Chronicles 4:10

Apr 8, '05 11:26 AM for everyone

i've finished 74.5 hours after 2 weeks of my practicum period. i'll be doing this until apr29. these past few days have been very hectic. i handled almost everything needed for sm cinema's movie guide. i had to call the film outfits for art materials (posters, press release photos, etc.), take note of the revisions in the media plan, and stuff like that. i'm really not in the mood to write this all down, i'm so tired!!!!!!!!!! ood anyway, i'm glad this is almost over.. but i have to tell you this: i'm starting to think about working for the agency even after my 200 hours are up (for a summer job atleast)... but i still have to think about it, i'm still having second thoughts..

125.5 hours to go!!!!!

i finished 9 hours of my supposed 200 hour workload of practicum. it's ok... not that i really enjoyed it.. i'm really not that interested in advertising... i'd rather work in tv production.. but i wanted to give this a shot before i totally close my doors on advertising opportunities. o i'm assigned to work with kuya paolo.. he's the head of the traffic and strategic planning department.. basically our job is to make sure every department is doing their job. we plan ahead so as to make the lives of the people from other departments more comfortable and organized. we plan what needs to be done first.. what can be done later.. something like that. for the first two hours, eds and i had nothing to do but wait for ate yeng to orient us. but when for they started to give us projects, we all got busy. ate cheche taught me how to do a media plan.. i mean an actual media plan which will be used for publications. i did the media plan for april 6 612. it was pretty easy but i still had to have a guide with me.. but still, i think i did a good job ut because kuya paolo told me that what i did was correct. he said i could do the media plan forever.. dream on! i dont want to be stuck doing that job. i mean, it's fine, but i still have to see what's in advertising that can persuade me to make it my life life-long career. 191 hours to go!!

what does "being sorry" really mean??? say sorry only when you mean it. say sorry when you really intend to change for the better. stop saying sorry just to shut me up.

dont say anything at all if you're not going to change your ways. 0 comments share

Mar 11, '05 10:14 AM for everyone i returned the book i borrowed (anne frank's diary) from the high school lib today. it was a disaster! here's what happened:
~~bad day~~ ~~~~~~~~~*****************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i gave the book to the librarian. zarah: "Ok na po?" librarian: "OK na." [so i got out of the library and started to head towards the stairway. then some high school students called me and told me that the librarian was calling me. so i returned to the library.] librarian: "overdue ka. nirenew mo ba to?" zarah: (surprised) "huh? anong overdue?? eh march 12 nakastamp jan march 11 palang ngayon." librarian: "eh nakalagay sa computer march 2 ang due date nito.

[we're both talking in raised voices. high school students inside the library were already watching us. the librarian continues to lecture.] . zarah: "o cge na magbabayad na ko." zarah: "asan na yung babae? dapat sabhin mo sakanya na mali yun nilagay nia." librarian: "oo sasabhin ko talaga. dont wori, il let her call you." [i paid P35 just to shut her up. it was obvious that she wasnt gonna budge. meanwhile i was . really pissed off and the values taught to me when i was a child to respect the elders was far child--to elders-from my mind. i was so pissed off] zarah: (after paying the bill) "sabhan mo yung kasama mo ah." librarian: "oo papatawagin ko sha sa inyo. SHE OWES YOU AN APOLOGY." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ****************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i consulted my mom and dad and asked for their opinion. i'm guilty of being rude to the librarian, but i couldnt help it. she was rude too! i mean, ako na nga tong namali, ako na tong napagsabhan nia, ako pa un pinagbayad, eh samantalang ndi ko naman kasalanan. ask anyone, if they borrowed a book from the library, and the librarian stamped the due date at the back of the book, are you going to question her if it's correct? or are you going to accept it as is??? malamang ing tanggapin mo na yung stnamp nia no. do you get my point? im so pissed off! anyway, my parents took my side, they agreed that it wasnt my fault, i didnt do anything wrong, i shouldnt have paid the fee. they agreed that the librarian who made a mistake should be the one to pay the fee. ok, so it's just P35, but what i want here is justice! (hahaha ang lalim!!) napahiya kaya ako sa mga students dun sa highschool! tapos ako pa un pnagsabhan eh ndi naman ako may kasalanan. anyway... next topic. nastestress lang ako.. 0 comments share

Mar 10, '05 8:38 AM for everyone at the beginning of the semester most of my clasm8s, including myself, hated this subject. actually not because of the subject itself but also partly because of the professor. but towards the end of the sem, we had to evaluate some of our professors, including this particular prof. After including the christmas break, he didnt show up in class for 3 weeks. then when he returned, we were all amazed at the obvious transformation in his attitude. he became nice to us. as in super nice. he

started discussing the lessons THOROUGHLY (because before, he didnt discuss anything at all), and we are now able to see him smile/laugh, unlike before when he wore a poker face all throughout our 3-hour class. this sudden transformation really made a lot of difference with regard to the atmosphere and our (my) studying habits. for me, i became motivated to study, because i can now understand the readings, because he already discussed it. (you know that i love to read, but reading the handouts he gave us really drains me. i have to repeat reading every sentence at least 5x just to be able to repeat understand it). i think his "poker face-terror teacher" facade at the beginning of the sem was just a front. terror 0 comments share

Mar 2, '05 10:40 PM for everyone just came from an interview for my OJT. i was asked to report to the office today, and i didnt know if it was for an interview or an orientation. it's a good thing the lady who interviewed me was nice.. =) it helped that my friends were there with me, they were also asked to go to the office. btw, it's an ad agency which handles the ads for sm cinemas, food courts, watsons, etc. the lady told me they were below-the-line media, meaning it's a face to face medium, which handles line billboards, posters, etc. so i think it's great because i'm better in writing than in conceptualizing ideas for TVCs and all that. 0 comments share

Feb 28, '05 6:34 AM for everyone at last after weeks of waiting for the ust high school lib to grant my request, i finally succeeded in getting a copy of anne frank's diary! very interesting to read. makes me feel childish compared to what she had to go through.

s i hate bossy people. there's this girl at school. she thinks she's so high and mighty because of her talents and accomplishments and because of that she bosses people around. i mean it's ok to be bossy if you're not overdoing it.. well i think every personality has its flaws. 0 comments share

Feb 24, '05 9:20 AM for everyone last tuesday RJ Jimenez from ust eng'g guested at the test episode of music jam featured by the thomasian cable television. he performed a song which he wrote and it was about tuesday, and how and why he hates it. reminds me of thursdays, which i hate because of my pol dy subjct. i started to hate thursdays only this sem because the schedule sucks. our class starts at 6pm whch the is okay if we had other classes before that...
i hate thursdays!

so today's thursday.. and guess what? another (mis)adventure happened.. sir tayao told us that he doesnt care what we wear during his class as long as we are w earing something. so most of us wearing wear civilian clothing on thursdays... then today, the swdb head spotted us and threatened to get our names so we almost had a case against us which would make it hard for us to graduate.. fortunately apol's dorm is nearby and she had an extra uniform for me to borrow.. so everything and was going smoothly when i was called to recite.. well i have to be honest, it's my fault coz i didnt read the last part of the assigned readings.. but still, it sucks. i just hope i'll still be a to pass able this subjct. dont want to take it up again.. oh, i also hate mondays... because of radio prod. well actually, not because of the subject but because of the prof. he's always wasting our time. it's a 3 hour class and we always find 3-hour ourselves doing nothing. well, so okay, he leaves us with a radio program to listen to then after ing that we had to come up with a 5 minute script of our own. but come on, a 5 minute script wont take 3HOURS to come up with! someone already informed the administration of this prof's incapability to teach, but i guess one student's voice is not enough because after 3 semesters of boredom, he's still here. 0 comments share

Feb 23, '05 10:03 AM for everyone i'm currently fascinated with the life of anne frank.. last time it was the romanovs... i dont know what pushes me to learn more about them.. maybe i just like history.. or maybe i just feel blessed being alive in this era... anne frank's story is touching.. maybe it's because we are both writers so i am able to sympathize with her. her diary is her main output of all her thoughts and emotions, the same with myself. i want to see her diaries for myself.. i wish i could go to amsterdam me someday.... yeah. i wish.... ;p

Aug 11, '04 6:59 AM for everyone new experience for me today... we had to present a variety show for our tv prod prelims... our grades were taken from our creative and technical jobs... for the creative side, we did the usual stuff seen on TV.. for the technical side, we took over the handling of the cameras, audios, lights, handling etc. i was assigned to the audio. i had to be alert because they took their cues from the music... i had a headache after the show.. the tension was really intense inside the director's booth... but still, it was fun because that's what i really want to do when it's time for me to get a job... at least se i already experienced the basic handling of the technical stuff... cool subject! =) 0 comments share
