Foods that increase Human Growth Hormone

Issue: 19 - 02 Apr 2008

A lot of people ask me how they can increase their HGH levels with just the food they eat. The first thing I tell them is the 3 most important amino acids to help increase your HGH levels are L-Arginine, L-Ornithine and L-Lysine, below are foods that are high in these amino acids. Foods high in L-Arginine Are plant and soy protein which are much higher in L-Arginine than animal protein. Nuts, sunflower seeds & sesame seeds Chocolate, popcorn & carob Raisins Brown rice, oatmeal & whole wheat bread Gelatin desserts Fermented foods such as miso and yoghurt Foods high in L-Ornithine Meat Fish Dairy products Eggs Food sources of L-Lysine Good sources of lysine are foods rich in protein including meat (specifically red meat, pork, and poultry) Cheese (particularly parmesan) Certain fish (such as cod and sardines) Nuts Eggs Soybeans (particularly tofu, isolated soy protein, and defatted soybean flour), Spirulina Fenugreek seed. Whereas the foods from the above list can help with increasing your HGH levels, at the end of the day you would have to eat a large amount of these foods to make a significant difference. There is one food that increases your Arginine and Ornithine levels quite considerably and that is Watermelon, below is two articles on studies conducted with watermelon. Keep in mind if you increase these two amino acids it will help increase your HGH levels.

I found this article about increasing your Arginine with watermelon juice. Imagine drinking watermelon juice and taking Natural HGH Complex as well, it would certainly be a potent little mixture. Arginine to Prevent Erectile Dysfunctional, Lower Blood Pressure, Improve Insulin Sensitivity. One more reason to enjoy watermelon is its exceptional high levels of citrulline, an amino acid our bodies use to make another amino acid, Arginine, which is used in the urea cycle to remove ammonia from the body, and by the cells lining our blood vessels to make nitric oxide. Nitric Oxide not only relaxes blood vessels, lowering high blood pressure, it is the compound whose production is enhanced by Viagra to prevent erectile dysfunction. Arginine has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity in obese type 2 diabetic patients with insulin resistance. Am J Physiol Endocrinol Metab. 2006 Nov:291(5):E906-12. In volunteers drinking three 8 ounce glasses of watermelon juice daily for 3 weeks, blood levels of Arginine (synthesized from Citrulline provided by the watermelon) were 11% higher in controls. Volunteers who drank six 8 ounce glasses of watermelon juice daily for 3 weeks had Arginine levels 18% higher than controls. Nutrition. 2007 Mar;23(3):261-6.

WATERMELON ELEVATES ARGININE LEVELS IN HUMANS Here is another article on watermelon juice and increased Arginine levels but also increased Ornithine levels as well. USDA researchers report that eating watermelon increases blood amino acid Arginine concentration in humans. Arginine is essential for the synthesis of nitric oxide, proline and creatine which are in their own right required for various biological processes. For example, nitric oxide helps relax vascular vessels and improves immune function. Proline is essential for joint function and wound healing. Creatine plays important roles in neurologic and muscular functions. The nutrient in watermelon responsible for the increased plasma Arginine level is called citrulline. On average, watermelon flesh contains 1.5 mg citrulline per g. Citrulline, an amino acid, is a precursor for the synthesis of Arginine. An intake of 1 kg of watermelon flesh provides enough citrulline for the synthesis of 40% of the mean daily Arginine intake ( 3.8 g) by an American adult.

The study subjects (healthy, non-smoking, 12 men and 11 women, 3669 years old), were treated with controlled diet and 0 (control), 780 (equivalent to 1 g citrulline), or 1560 (equivalent to 2 g of citrulline) grams of watermelon juice per day. The treatments lasted for three weeks. Compared with the control treatment, fasting plasma Arginine concentrations increased 12% and 22% after 3 weeks of the lowerdose watermelon and the higher-dose watermelon treatments, respectively. Furthermore, the higher dose watermelon juice increased plasma Ornithine level by 18%. The study was published in the Journal of Nutrition on the March 2007 edition.

SUMMARY At the end of the day if you increase your Arginine, L/lysine and L/Ornithine levels you will increase your HGH levels. So imagine if you not only started eating foods that were high in those amino acids, but also took a HGH Releaser like Natural HGH Complex you can help to speed up the results you wish to achieve. Here are links to two web pages that might be of interest to you, one is a blog page which is just on HGH and the effects and benefits of increasing your levels, but also there is information on HGH Releasers versus Human Growth Hormone Therapy, why injectable Human Growth Hormone has negative side effects compared to HGH releasers that have no side effects. The second web page is whichhas scientific information on this products plus testimonials and case histories.
