Mecca Jamilah Sullivan is
from Harlem, New York. Her fiction has appeared internationally in publications including Callaloo, Best New Writing, Crab Orchard Review, Baby Remember My Name, The Minnesota Review, Bloom, X-24: Unclassified, Baobab: South African Journal of New Writing, 2010 Robert Olen Butler Fiction Prize Stories, and others. She is the winner of the Charles Johnson Fiction Award, the William Gunn Fiction Award, the James Baldwin Memorial Playwriting Award, and the second place winner of the American Short Fiction Short Story Contest. She has received scholarships and residencies from Yaddo, the New York State Summer Writers’ Institute, the Hedgebrook Writers’ Retreat, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and others. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate and Dean’s Scholar in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania, and is completing her first novel.

Katia N. Ruiz is 32-years-old and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. She is a creative writer and photographer, and is currently exploring merging the two together.

Stephanie aka DJ Tease is a Singer/Songwriter, Musician, Producer,
Remixer, and an artist. She began drawing, painting and sculpting at the age of 9. By the age of 15 she learned to play the violin, acoustic and electric guitar, electric and double bass. In that time she also learning that she had a voice too! Not long after learning the basics did she start to produce her own music and that of others. Spending hours honing her craft, she's produced over 100 songs. Winner of the Put the Needle on the Records title of THE BEST FEMALE DJ of 2008, she currently deejays nationwide, produces her own tracks and the remixes of other artists.

Essence is a dual degreed,
former lap dance engineer of the upscale gentlemen's club scene, from NY to Vegas and sweet, sticky places in between. It is now her goal to help women remove the shame & stigma around expressing ourselves as sensual beings. Dorian Davis At her first stage appearance at Tommy T’s Comedy Club in the California Bay Area, Dorian Davis, a St. Louis native, gained raving reviews and validation from her audience. After spending years making people laugh as a way to get her self out of awkward situations and just for the fun of it, at that moment when Dorian knew comedy just ‘felt right’. Dorian enjoys sharing her gift to make people feel good and smile. Influenced by Comedy 'Greats' like Moms Mabley, Red Foxx, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and Robin Harris, Dorian has made audiences laugh at COMIX NYC, Laugh Lounge & Broadway Comedy Club just to name a few; with her Southern “twang” accent, bold old-school delivery, intense expressions, she is quickly making a signature mark in the comedy world.

LaTonia Phipps Blactress, Spoken Word Poet, and Playwright. An alum
of The Eugene O’Neil National Theater Institute, she has also received an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College. She was last seen in The Colored Museum, by George C. Wolfe at The Crossroads Theater as woman 1 and Wait Until Dark, by Fredrick Knott at The Ivoryton Playhouse, With Aarons Arms Around Me at The Cherry Lane Theater and Negro Ensemble as well as a variety of projects throughout New York City. “Fishing in Brooklyn,”is Phipps’s first full length play to be written and performed, first premired at The Rotunda Theater (West Philadelphia) and went on to be presented at The Woodstock Fringe Festival and the highly acclaimed Theater Row. You can catch this show next at The Wow Theater this coming February 18-26. She is also currently serving as a Teaching Artist for Opening Act (non-profit org providing theater for at risk H.S.’s) where she uses Acting and Spoken Word Poetry as a tool to help students have a deeper connection to theater.
