WHAT IS BIXI?
What does BIXI stand for? BIcycle- TaXI Montreal's new self-service bicycle system. A network of 300 stations with over 3,000 bicycles for locals and tourists. A service available in 6 Montreal boroughs. Available from May to November. An environmentally friendly initiative that encourages alternative methods of transportation. One of the 50 best inventions of the year according to Time Magazine! The winner: The 1st DNA test available to the public An entirely Quebec-based design that is already a hit overseas!

FONCTIONNEMENT DU SERVICE BIXI HOW THE BIXI SERVICE WORKS
From station to station... Take a bicycle. Pedal. Return it. It's that easy! 1. Pick-up a bicycle at the nearest station. 2. Pedal away... then, return the bicycle to any station - the original location of pick-up or the station nearest to your destination. 3. Users can consult the website to find the nearest station and to check the availability of bicycles in real time.

A VERY GOOD DEAL!
Created for short trips, the pay-as-you-go structure is intended to encourage frequent trips. You have to be a member to use the system, but for each usage, the first 30 minutes are always free. Membership Annual: $78 (valid for the entire season, from May to November) Montlhy: $28

Daily: $5 (valid for 24 hours) Once you’re a member, fees vary with length of usage: 1st period of 30 minutes: always free 2nd period of 30 minutes: $1.50 3rd period of 30 minutes: $3.00 4th period of 30 minutes: $6.00
