Functionality
The IBS7v4 provides interfaces for Signaling System no. 7 (SS7) traffic over E1 or T1. It supports narrowband SS7 protocol on 64 timeslots.

Front Panel Overview


Refer to the list below and Figure 1 on page 1 for a description of the IBS7v4 connectors, buttons, and LEDs. 1 REPAIR REQUEST BUTTON Pressing the button activates a Repair Request. The software part will then prepare the plug-in unit for removal. When the removal is allowed the software activates the REPAIR ALLOWED LED. 2 Board Status LEDsERROR LED Flashing Red: The plug-in unit is booting. (The LED will be turned off when the OS is loaded.) Red: Lit when a hardware fault is detected by the software in the plug-in unit. Normal state: Off (Unlit). REPAIR ALLOWED LED Flashing Yellow: The Repair Request button has been pressed and the plug-in unit is preparing for removal. Yellow: The plug-in unit can be removed. Normal state: Off (Unlit). POWER LED Green: Lit when the secondary voltages are present. Normal state: On (lit). 3 CONSOLE Connector RS232 port for temporary connection to a console or terminal server. 4 LINK LEDs 0 1 Not used. 5 ETH Connectors Not used. 6 SS7 PCM Connectors

Four standard SS7 2 Mbps E1 interfaces according to G.703 (120 Ohm or 75 Ohm balanced interface) or four 1.5 Mbps T1 interfaces according to G.703 (100 Ohm balanced interface).
