EOD Machine Programming - On-Line Course

Introduction to CAPS for Lathe (MAPPS III) M S U 0 2 8

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The CAPS for Lathe Education-On-Demand (EOD) course is a revolutionary approach to learning Mori Seiki Conversational Automatic Program System. EOD overcomes the cost and time barriers associated with taking the learner away from the production floor and incurring travel expenses. EOD provides training 24/7 in a virtual, web-based environment. It is designed for manufacturing-based employees to learn the CAPS system to generate NC programs on their Mori Seiki CNC lathe in just a few hours. This online course is designed to give the student basic understanding of: The benefits and application of the Conversational Automatic Programming System (CAPS) for lathes. Detail of the various screens used when programming a lathe with CAPS The process of creating a CAPS program using a sample part drawing. This allows student to learn in a safe, virtual world. The CAPS for Lathe module is self-paced (approximately 6 to 8 hours of online learning).

Chapter 5 - Programming at the Machine

Now that youve completed the CAPS for Lathe online training course, you are ready to test your knowledge at an actual Mori Seiki Lathe machine.

Using the techniques from the online course the student will:

Print the sample part drawing and process sheet. Create the required CAPS machining processes at the machine Run the simulation to verify that the workpiece is machined properly.
