External coatings for field applied piping and structures shall be selected on minimum requirements (mild exposure) for protective coatings on onshore facilities per SAES-H-001 Selection Requirements For Industrial Coatings, and SAES-H-002 Internal And External Coatings For Steel Pipelines And Piping. b. Only COMPANY approved paint suppliers per SAES-H-101V Approved Saudi Aramco Data Sheets - Paints And Coatings, and SAES-H-002V. Approved Saudi Aramco Data Sheets shall be used. c. According to NCPD/L-0012/2008 "PRIOR APPROVAL FOR BURIED INSTRUMENT AIR LINES" AND ENOIA CORRESPONDENCE REPLY 501-C-1447 / 30.01.2008 d. Above ground plastic CPVC pipes, fittings, and plastic valves that do not have built-in protection from Ultraviolet (UV) light (exposed to sunlight) shall be shielded by painting with an exterior-grade, water-based emulsion, or tapewrap with UV resistant pressure sensitive tape utilizing adhesive that will not affect the plastic material. e. Above ground pipes and steel structures shall be painted a neutral background color such as GRAY which will not detract from the high visibility of the safety colors set out in SAES-B-067.
