plane. It is also how we are able to be observ ant in the dream plane & psyche. The gland is responsible for triggering the rel ease of numerous chemicals with regulatory functions in the human body. An impor tant note is the pineal gland not only calcifies at the onset of puberty, but it also shrinks. For this reason, the pineal gland is larger than that in adults. As the third eye, the pineal gland is exceptionally sensitive to natural and art ificial light and has a lens, cornea, and retina. Even though it lies deep in th e brain where light cannot reach it, it is still aware of the presence of light.
