New GM for Stoke Rochford Hall

Country house hotel and events venue Stoke Rochford Hall in Lincolnshire aims to build on its reputation for top class hospitality – and helping drive the business forward is new General Manager Barry Clark. Originally hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, he has worked for some of Britain’s biggest hotel and catering brands and hosted guests ranging from celebrity chef Anthony Worrall Thompson to broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson, and Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond, who was a regular visitor at his previous hotel. He took up his new role at Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham this month and is now keen to push ahead with the next phase of the hotel’s business expansion. “Stoke Rochford is a spectacular country house hotel and events venue, offering a real ‘wow’ factor with its impressive stone mansion and picturesque setting, yet it has fantastic transport links too,” he says. “It’s just a short drive from Grantham, with fast direct rail links to London, and is literally minutes from the A1, the country’s main north-south road. “I’m really looking forward to helping take Stoke Rochford Hall on the next leg of its journey towards becoming the best country house hotel and venue in the region – and beyond. It’s clear that Stoke Rochford already offers a warm welcome to guests staying at the hotel or enjoying one of our popular events as well as delegates attending a wide range of conferences and meetings, both big and small, that we host year round. “But we are always striving to improve, so a key focus for us going forward will be offering even better customer service as part of our continuing commitment to delivering high quality standards in everything that we do.” After studying Hospitality Management at Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University, Mr. Clark has spent his career within the hotel sector working in Scotland, England, France, Spain and Portugal for various top hotel groups including Hilton, Corus and Menzies. He moves to Stoke Rochford from Aberdeen, where he ran a very similar Scottish country house hotel on the outskirts of the city. Built over 150 years ago as the last of a long line of noble houses stretching back to Roman times, Stoke Rochford Hall offers a perfect country retreat set in 28 acres of countryside beside a quintessential English stone village. As well as offering country house hotel comfort and country grandeur, Stoke Rochford Hall also boasts 26 flexible meeting areas, as well as a dedicated IT

suite, spectacular breakout areas on the outside terraces, leisure centre with recently refurbished gym and a neighbouring 18-hole golf course. Barry takes over from former General Manager Neill Walker, who has moved on to manage a hotel in South East England. For more details about Stoke Rochford Hall, visit: Ends
