Batam – General Information
Customs • Duty free concessions for visitors entering Indonesia include a maximum of one litre of spirits (brandy, whisky, gin, rum, vodka etc), one litre of wine, one litre of beer, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100gm tobacco and a reasonable amount of perfume. • Photographic equipment, typewriters, recorders and computers must be declared at customs upon entry. Television and radio sets, drugs, arms and ammunition, printed matter in Chinese characters, Chinese medicines, transceivers (without advance approval), all uncensored movie films and video cassettes, fresh fruits, plants and animals without quarantine permits are prohibited.

• Volunteer Physiotherapists – 3 volunteer physiotherapists will be stationed at the hotel to provide massage therapy upon your arrival. – To ensure everyone is able to receive treatment, each cyclist will be given max. 15 minutes massage therapy, on a first come first served basis. – Priority will be given to more urgent cases.

Event support
• Mechanic – Bike mechanics will be on hand to support the event – Use of tubes from support vehicles is chargeable at SGD $10/tube – To pay for any spare tires on the spot. • Event Photographers - There are two official event Photographers.

Event safety

• Food and drinks – Participants have to take care of their own meals during the ride – Bring Indonesian Rupiah for own purchases – Bring $10 USD for those requiring Visa Upon Arrival – Support vehicles will carry water supplies (Pokari & Mineral Water), gels (sponsored by Maxifuel) & bananas for the cyclists while stocks last – Water supplies will also be provided at designated rest stops. Bring own powder or energy bar

Emergency procedures
• In the event of an accident/injury  Contact the Event Director (if you have a phone) and/or flag down any of the SLCC support vehicles for help  Not more than 2 persons should accompany the injured. Other participants should proceed on the SLCC route to avoid causing traffic congestion • In the event of bad/wet weather  The Event Director will make the decision to suspend or stop the ride.  If the event is stopped, all participants will be ferried to the End Point by the support vehicles.

Certificate of Participation - A Certificate of Participation will be presented to all cyclists. - Please collect your certificate after your ride.

 On Day 2, after 12 noon, any cyclists south of 1st Barelang Bridge will be swept

 Cyclists must comply when instructed to get onto the bus or support vehicles. This is to ensure all return safely and on time.  Instructions from the Event Director have to be adhered to at all times.

• Top Fundraiser is the person who raises the most money as at 5pm on 12 Sep 2013 and will receive a Orbea Orca Monocoque Bronz with Shimano 105 valued at $3,899 sponsored by Soon Watt & Co. • Those cyclists who raise above $3,000 will be eligible for a lucky draw (excluding the top fundraiser) • For every extra $500 raised the cyclist gets another extra lucky draw chance. • However you will only be able to win one prize • We will draw the prizes from the top down (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) • Due to customs regulations we will not be bringing any of the lucky draw gifts to Batam. • Prizes are to be collected from St Luke’s Hospital by 1 November 2013. Failing which the prizes will become the property of St Luke’s.
