Generic Name: PLASIL

Stimulates motility of upper GI tract Increase lower esophageal sphincter tone & blocks dopamine receptors at the chemoreceptor trigger zone

Contraindicated in patient’s hypersensitivity to drug & in those with pheochromocytom a or seizure disorders. Contraindicated in patient’s whom stimulation of GI motility might be dangerous

Fever, Tell patient to avoid headache, activities that require dizziness alertness for 2 hours after dose. Stay with the patient while drinking the drug

Competitively inhibits action of histamine on the H2 at receptor sites of parietal cells, decreasingly gastric acid secretion.

Contraindicated in patient hypersensitive to drug & those with acute porphyna Use cautiously in patients with hepatic dysfunction. Adjust dosage in patients with impaired renal function

Dry mouth, headache, vomiting, nausea

Instruct patient on proper use of OTC preparation as indicated
