Objectives

To do a Masters degree (LL.M.) in European Law at one of the selected German Universities.
For Master courses funded under the programme please see Annex

Target Group

Highly qualified graduates with a first university degree in law (Bachelor or equivalent) who in the future want to actively contribute to the academic or economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for young professionals 1 year Stipend of EURO 750.00 per month A lump sum towards air fare from India to Germany and back Exemption from payment of university tuition fees A study and research subsidy Compulsory health insurance covered by DAAD 2 months German Language Course in Germany - free tuition, boarding, lodging plus pocket allowance during the period of the German language course (preceding studies)

Requirements and Conditions

A 1st class Bachelors Degree in Law There should not be a gap of more than 6 years between the award of last degree and application deadline (1st October) In general, candidates should be residing in India at the time of application. Candidates, who have been in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application, are not eligible to apply.

Application Documents

Two sets of the following documents arranged in the order mentioned below: Application form with a passport-size photograph attached to each form. Please ensure that you have signed both forms before sending them to us Typed copy of full curriculum-vitae (bio-data) Copy of detailed motivation letter 2 references from senior academics from the applicant's field of study/research on the proforma available on our website. The referees title and academic status should be clearly indicated in this (with official rubber-stamp). These should be Confidential (in sealed envelopes) and should be recent-dated Copy of recent language certificate giving evidence of the applicants level of proficiency -TOEFL minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based) or IELTS (band 6) certificate; German Language skills** at A2 level Copies of all chronologically arranged academic certificates and mark-sheets (all copies must be attested; attested English translation, if the originals are in Hindi; Attestation can be done by a gazetted Government officer)
** Knowledge of German is not mandatory but desirable
