Hello,Im one of the happy EVS volunteer in Czech Republic.

My name is Eleonora and Im from Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan Republic. And Id like to tell you about my experience here as a volunteer, my first impressions, emotions,etc. So, my first days after the arrival were very saturated and full of events where I met very pleasant people (for example,Halloween party). A few words about my town of living. I live in the royal town Pelhimov, it is situated between Prague and Brno.I adore of houses in various styles of architecture. Here I discovered Reneissance,Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings. Here in my Pelhimov I feel myself like as a piligrim from the fairy-tale.And also this town is famous as a town of great Records and everybody can walk along the river or go to the museum and see the photos of diffefent czech attributes(the biggest, the smallest,the longest,fastest,etc.) The Czech republic reminds me the pictures from the fairy-tales, I watched them on TV in my childhood :-) About my work. I work in one of the 10 FOKUS Vysoina centres in the Czech republic to support the mentally ill people after their hospitalization.The organization is a voluntary association of the citizens with the mission to support and assist to the people with mental illnesses and disabilities in their development, independency and selfconfidence to live their life according to their ideas and fully. I like to work there.We make different things from ceramic clay,for example, Christmas trees,sheep,camels,donkeys and many other animals. This is my first sheep.I did it!))))

About organization of my EVS. I like very much people,with who I work and help.Most of them have a clear cristal soul and kind heart.I feel support in everything, really.People helped me in different situations and support me in my first steps in the new country ,that has,on one hand, different mentalitet and traditions,and on another hand,it is so similar. I would like to say Thank you! my dear coordinator Lucka,Tereza,Jana,Iva,Eva, Daniela and many others, because they are many,many workers and clients. My expectations. I didnt imagine the country,the town,where I was going to go for my EVS before my arrival.Certainly, I saw many times the photos and pictures in the internet,but I couldnt imagine such a wonferful beauty of nature and harmonic oasis of peace and queit (in the centre of the town -Deans Garden,Municipal Park). I like walking here a lot. About On-arrival training. Oh,I think it was very funny and useful at the same time.I had many various activities and much time to think,consider,discuss and reflect.I was adored of the theatre of oppressed.Ive never heard about it.Thanks to workshops!!! Many games,activities,many greetings, introductions and meetings.And I didnt noticed that abstract theory changed into a clear understanding of aims, goals of the programme EVS (Youth in Action). I realized that my burning area is a development of my skills, integration to the society and cultural adaptation.The positive friendly people and our dear trainers inspured everybody of us.I thought much about steps I need to do in order to support my organization and my project.I discovered and learned many interesting things.Totally, it was very ufeful and unbelievable!!!
