More than twelve years editing experience in domains as varied as medical documentation / editing, film subtitling and e-Learning quality assurance. I also have experience in editing business documents such as newsletters, thought leadership articles, business RFPs and creation and editing of client business proposal driver biographies for pre-sales teams engaged in the pursuit of different projects.

Current engagement
Since April 11, 2012, I am associated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the role of a Team Lead / Editor, where I lead a niche team providing editorial and consultancy support to the knowledge services function of a leading global accounting and professional services major, for its advisory content such as client driver biographies, RFPs, whitepapers, case studies, newsletters, and thought leadership publications. My core role in the current team includes editing and quality assurance of all deliverables, ensuring the deliverables are completed within the clientrequested turnaround time, ensuring that a host of compliances are met, both at TCS as well as the clients end. In addition, I am also involved in mentoring and monitoring new entrants to the team.

Prior to being assigned to the current project, I led the Editorial Services team at TCS, wherein, for the same global US-based client, we provided editorial support functions for their document production division. As part of the work process, we performed four different levels of edits (proofreading, light copy editing, standard copy editing, and substantive/developmental copy editing). As part of the process, I regularly performed the following tasks: Scan and skim-read documents to understand the flow and structure Read client project instructions to understand any specific instructions and the required levels of edits Remove typographical, grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors Check for accuracy of hyperlinks, dates, revenues, and other data Suggest rewording to remove redundancy and wordiness Refer the client style guide and other trusted reference sources for ensuring style and data correctness Suggest style corrections for compound words, hyphenated phrases, headings, and sentences Conduct a post-edit review and a peer-review before sending the edited document Communicate editing approach to the client via email Exchange ideas with the aligned client contacts and receive process updates through regular conference calls

November 2010 April 2012: Educomp Learning Limited, Bangalore Team Lead Quality Assurance (eLearning domain) Engaged in day-to-day administration of the quality assurance program of e-Learning programs Worked closely with team members to ensure clear, consistent, and accurate quality check of K-12 instructional modules, including e-Learning courses, instructor-led training programs, and other learning resources Resolved quality issues and drove continued improvement Refined the overall QA management systems, implemented and monitored quality policies Established strategic plans and wrote reports on a weekly basis for submission to the higher management Defined and set quality benchmarks and parameters and ensured these are followed diligently by all departments.
