Scripture They have soon turned aside from the way I pointed out to them, making for themselves a molten calf and worshiping it, (Ezekiel 32:8) My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit; a heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn. (Psalm 51:19) Indeed, the grace of our Lord has been abundant, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 1:14) your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.. (Luke 15:32) Reflection How is the prodigal son changed? How is the brother that stayed at home the same? What is important to father and sons at the beginning and at the end? What do you treasure? How do you know? It means that humanity is eternal and that death, which used to frighten us so much and painfully dominate our existence, is now explained, understood, taken captive and conquered. Our dying to earth is a progressive emergence from the womb of matter and history, so that we may gradually acquirer the stability of the Kingdom and full communication with God.
