The heart of today’s Gospel story is about how we
make use of God’s material and spiritual gifts. It may
look like Jesus is condemning those who have money and wealth,
but he is actually challenging us to examine how we use the things
of this world—are we wasteful and unjust or are we good
stewards of God’s gifts?

“For it is the difficulties and hindrances that
Christians find in their age which give the form
to their character and habits, and when
mastered, become the means of divine grace
and their titles of glory. Indicate these, and you
portray that type of sanctity in which the life of
the Church will find its actual and living
expression.” [Sermon, “The Saint of Our

We had our first RCIA meeting this past
Monday night! I didn’t know what to expect,
as this is my first time helping to coordinate
RCIA. Looking back at my nervousness in
preparation, I should have known exactly what
to expect. It’s what happens here every day at
the UCC. We get to meet beautiful souls on a
journey with Our Lord. I’m humbled daily at the beauty of God’s
creation in each person I meet.
Is God calling you to find out more about the Catholic Faith or to
sponsor someone on this amazing journey? Give me a call, shoot
me an email, or stop by my office. I’d love to hear from you! Or, if
all else fails, just show up tomorrow night from 7-9pm in the
basement! Come one, come all! You won’t regret it.
God bless you & Hook ‘em Horns!
