GrowingcustomerdemandforEcoBoostpoweredvehiclesinFordsmajormarketsworldwide isdrivingengineproduction,withoutputnowaveragingmorethan100,000enginespermonth, upfrom65,000in2012. FordEcoBoostdeliversgreatperformancewithlowerfuelbills,arecipewhichisproving incrediblypopularwithconsumersaroundtheworld,saidJoeBakaj,vicepresident,Powertrain Engineering,Ford.EcoBoostenginesareattractingnewcustomerstotheFordbrandevery day,andourplantsareworkinghardtokeepupwithdemand. GrowthinAsiaPacific InAsiaPacific,salesofEcoBoostvehiclesthroughAugustareup202percentyearoveryearin 2013,includinga189percentriseinChina.Fordplanstoofferthefuelefficientenginein20 vehiclesintheregionbymiddecade,afivefoldincreasefrom2012. NinetyfivepercentofKugabuyersinAsiaPacificarechoosingthe1.6literEcoBoostengine, while90percentofEdgeownersand62percentofMondeobuyersareoptingfortheefficient engines. Europeanexpansion InEurope,exceptionaldemandforthe1.0litreEcoBoostengineInternationalEngineofthe Year2012and2013isfuellingadoublingofproductioncapacityattheCologne,Germany, engineplanttomorethan1,000enginesaday.
