Z test The statistical tool Z-test is a test wherein normal distribution is applied and the sample size n is greater

than 30. Z-test are used for different purposes. It is classified according to the following types below: 1. Z-test for single proportion this is used for testing hypothesis (null hypothesis H0 and alternative hypothesis H1) on a specific value of the population proportion. 2. Z-test for difference of proportions this is used for testing hypothesis having the same proportion from two populations. 3. Z-test for single mean - this is almost the same as the Z-test for single proportion. The difference is that rather than testing hypothesis on a specific value of the population proportion, it tests hypothesis for the specific value of the population mean. 4. Z-test for single variance - - this is almost the same as the Z-test for single proportion and single mean but test hypothesis on a specific value of the population variance, it tests hypothesis for the specific value of the population mean. This is used when n30. 5. Z-test for testing equality of variance this is used to test the hypothesis equality of two population variances when the sample size of each sample is 30. http://explorable.com/z-test - EXPLORABLE (Home > Research > Statistics > Z-Test)

The researchers are to consider the following for evaluation: a. The parameters such as temperature, time and type of soil are to be known but it is not the main focus for analysis. These are the nuisance parameters, these parameters, though not of immediate interest were still to be accounted for in order to make an analysis of the parameter of interest which is the cyanide content of the particular cassava sample. Using Z-test for single proportion is applicable in this parameter consideration which is treating the cyanide content as the single parameter for analysis and the others (temperature, time and type of soil) were to be fixed. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/articleDetails.jsp?tp=&arnumber=62251&contentType=Journals+%2 6+Magazines&searchWithin%3DSearch_Index_Terms%3A.QT.nuisance+parameters.QT. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuisance_parameter b. The testing result and statistical tool should vary approximately normal. Z-test is used for analysis of data that are normally distributed. c. Manual reading of the picrate paper must yield the same result as the data acquired through image processing.

With these considerations, the researchers decided to use the Z-test for single proportion as suggested by the groups statistician Ms. Yumi Valenzuela. There were 30 samples subjected at room temperature and there were 30 samples subjected at 50 C for faster reaction and be evaluated through image processing. These set of samples were obtained from three varieties namely Lakan Yellow, Lakan White

and Lakan Lakan. Z-test for single proportion will therefore meet the objectives and show the reliability and accuracy of the device.

There is an allotted 25 minutes for a player to complete all his turn. Any play made beyond the 25 inute time will me a deduction of 10 points.
