Each Condominium Unit’s share of building improvements amounts to a minimum of $202,000 and up to $244,000 which can be written off your taxes on an accelerated basis of one half (½) of those improvements in your very first year of ownership for a huge first year tax savings. (You can also write off the balance of your depreciation over 39 years.) If you’re in a 31% tax bracket, this will save you at least $31,000 in your first year of ownership! You can also write off the full amount of your share of the accelerated depreciation over the first ten years of ownership and save at least $62,000 off your taxes.
