Repeat until the kids seem to get it – as a last resort have the HRT translate into Japanese. Then, practice with the kids a few times, asking them “can you ____?” Go through all the vocabulary on page 26, make sure the students understand.

4. Listening ~ リスニング活動 13:40-44 • Hand out the page 26 worksheet. • ALT says “I can ______” o Students point to the various activities. 5. Gesture Game ~ ジェスチャー ゲーム 13:44-48 • Do some gesture from page 26. As kids figure it out, they raise their hands and ask “Can you _____?” • Depending on time, perhaps have students come up to play. 6. Can you? Go Fish 13:48-14:10 • Give students a card. They ask another student “Can you ______?” If the student has that card, they say “Yes, I can.” If they don’t they say “No, I can’t” and draw another card from the pile. Once they get 6 of a certain card they can retire it. 7. Ending Greeting ~ 挨拶終了 14:10 Extra Time • How are you? song • Hangman • “Can you ___?” guessing interview game
