51A-4.203(3.3) - Gas pipeline compressor station. (A) Definitions:
(i) GAS PIPELINE COMPRESSOR STATION means a facility for devices that raise the pressure of a compressible fluid (gas) in order for the gas to be transported through a transmission pipeline. This use does not include compressors that are part of a gas drilling and production use that only provide compression for gas to circulate into a gathering system. (B) Districts permitted: By SUP only in industrial research and industrial manufacturing districts. Must be located a minimum of 1,000 feet from a residential district, measured in a straight line, without regard to intervening structures or objects, from the nearest boundary of the lot where this use is conducted to the nearest boundary of a lot in the residential zoning district. (C) is required. (D) (E) Required off-street loading: None Additional provisions: Required off-street parking: Five spaces. No handicapped parking
(i) All compressor, associated equipment, and buildings shall be enclosed by a six-foot security fence. (ii) All equipment or buildings associated with the operation of the compressor located in or within 600 feet of from the public right-of-way must be screened from public view by appropriate landscaping, berming, structure or wall constructed of metal, masonry or other structurally sound material that significantly screens the equipment and is painted in a non-contrasting soft earth tone color to match the nearby surroundings as nearly as possible as determined by the Specific Use Permit. (iii) Exhaust from any internal combustion engine or compressor shall not be discharged into the open air unless it is equipped with an exhaust muffler or mufflers or an exhaust muffler box constructed of non-combustible materials sufficient to suppress noise and 47disruptive vibrations and prevent the escape of noxious gases, fumes or ignited carbon or soot. (iv) Compressors must comply with the low and high frequency noise requirements in Section 51A12.107(1), “Noise.”

(40) A spill prevention plan that complies with state and federal regulations, this article, and all other city regulations and includes a plan for effective containment of all materials on site, including containment and mitigation strategies for any failures of pipes, tanks, secondary containment systems, temporary or permanent, and water recycling systems.
