SUMMARY Responsible for the operating system and associated subsystems. Provide system-level support of multiuser operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. 2. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems. 3. Research and recommend hardware and software development, purchase, and use. 6. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration. 7. Select among authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise. 8. Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security. 9. Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and peripherals to include; network cards, printers, modems, mice and add-in boards. 10. Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. 11. Write and maintain system documentation. 12. Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system. 13. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network. 14. Document system problems and resolutions for future reference. 15. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource. 2. Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members. 3. Provide computer orientation to new company staff.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Knowledge of company supported hardware, software and operating systems to include configuration and connectivity. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. Ability to develop systems solutions for operational problems. Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes. Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware and/or software solutions. Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems. Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications. Records maintenance skills. Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software. Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. Ability to learn and support new hardware, software and operating systems. Work with users requires interpersonal skills. This is normally acquired through a combination of a Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of programming and/or system analysis experience. 3. The Information Technology Department manages the technology and computer infrastructure that drives the organizations business systems. The Systems Analyst/Developer position requires strong business skills and would be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and occasionally modifying systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems. Make recommendations on custom applications which include a number of MS-Access data capture systems for Stewardship and other databases which need to be moved into a central SQL repository. Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes. Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of our Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge systems Coordinate application development for multiple projects. Assist in troubleshooting software application issues. Assist in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development and programming consultants. Assist network administrator with application installation and testing. Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements. Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions. Provides assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology. Provide minor programming for some in-house IT projects. Provide SQL administration in live and test environments. Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc. Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications. Verify database and data integrity. Participate in weekly meetings with the IT network team to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on a weekly basis to the CIO. Participate on IT project steering committees and be involved in the design phase of any new IT software development

projects. Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects. Serve as a liaison and facilitator between all business units to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues. Qualifications:

Should have a minimum of 7 years of technology experience with at least 5 years hands-on technical roles in the field and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications. Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support. Good background in Data Base design in Microsoft SQL and Access. Background in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook and HTML. Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of Citrix Metaframe XP, Blackbaud Raisers Edge and Financial Edge would be an asset Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities; Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
