October 2013 Dear Friend, Greetings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, from everyone at the church. The Scripture says, "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost" (Romans 15:13). This verse blesses me every time I read it because no matter what you are going through, no matter the circumstance, or no matter how you feel, He still can fill you with joy and peace through believing in the living God! I remember many years ago I had gone through several changes in my life. I was having a difficult time adjusting to the changes and it seemed like I couldn't see how things could get better. I tried and tried, but I was struggling. I asked the Lord how I could change how I looked at the situation because things were so dark. I went to the altar at the end of a church service one morning and really prayed. I happened to look over at a man receiving prayer and suddenly a verse of Scripture came to my mind. In Hebrews 10:35 it says, "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward." I knew in my heart the Lord wanted me to quote it to him. But I thought, "Lord, I need that Scripture!" Still, I knew I had to quote it to him. So after everything was said and done I went up to him and told him that verse. He looked surprised, blinked his eyes a few times, and I thought he was going to cry! I walked away thinking it was me that needed the encouragement. I still had to face my situation and wondered what God was trying to show me in it. A week later I happened to be chatting with this man. He told me he owned a computer software company and the Monday after I gave him the Scripture he had to make a presentation to a group of people who would decide if they were going to accept his product or not. He went into the meeting with that verse in his mind. He didn't cast away his confidence and they decided to hire his company! The Lord answered his prayer, his company wouldn't go out of business, and his dreams for this product would be fulfilled! I was very happy for him. But I also received something from that experience. I realized the God of hope had filled me

with joy and peace in believing! My faith grew and I wanted the Lord to give me more verses of Scriptures for others so I could be a blessing to them, too. It has been said, "The light you give is the light you live." Whatever you sow you will reap. I have learned in my conflicts to look for ways to help and strengthen others in their struggles. Somehow God always helps me, too! As a Christian you never go through anything in vain. God has a divine plan for your life, and you cannot fail if you trust Him! It may not be what you think, it may not go your way, you may face adversity, but if you keep looking to the God of hope you will always triumph in Him! He will fill your soul with life, peace, and joy in believing. Let me encourage you today that if you are facing a difficult situation to have a little talk with Jesus. He knows just what to do!
