Welcome to IdenTrust! Obtaining an ACES Digital Certificate is a simple 4-Step process. This workbook will help introduce and walk you through each process. First, let’s identify the 4 steps:

Before we get started, there are a few pieces of information that are important to know:

In order to protect the identity of our certificate holders, only the certificate holder should be using their own digital certificate. Please do not let others use your digital certificate; do not share your passwords or passphrases, or your private key. Disclosing passwords and passphrases compromise the security of your digital certificate, requiring it to be revoked.

Individual vs. ACES Business Representative Certificate - enables you to authenticate yourself as an employee of a valid business in government transactions to gain access to restricted Web Business
sites, and to send and receive e-mail communications using your digital certificate to authenticate yourself.

ACES Unaffiliated Individual Certificate - enables you to authenticate yourself in personal government transactions to gain access to restricted Web sites, and to send and receive email communications using your digital certificate to authenticate yourself.

Disclosing Personal Info

Applying for an individual certificate will require you to disclose personal information about yourself for the purpose of identification verification. If this information is incomplete or inaccurate, we will be unable to fulfill your request for a digital certificate.

Passphrases During the application process, you will be required to create a Passphrase. This

Passphrase will be needed to retrieve your certificate once it is approved. Please remember or store your Passphrase in a secure place, as it cannot be retrieved once you have submitted it. It is stored in an unreadable format, so support personnel have no access to the original text you submit.

Step-By-Step Instructions (ACES Business Representative Certificate) Step 1: Application
Once you begin the online application process, you will need to provide the following information and then provide payment for the digital certificate:

Payment Payment methods: Credit Card, Order Number or Voucher Number NOTE: To pay by Order Number or Voucher Number, you must submit your Purchase Order prior to certificate application. Authorization Agreement and ID Form Step 2: In Person During the application process, you will need to download the Authorization Agreement ID Identification Form and then follow these instructions: 1. Complete the Authorization Agreement ID Form 2. Notarize the document 3. Submit the document per the instructions

Step 3:
Authentication

Authentication Processing of the ACES Business Representative Certificate application is carried out by an IdenTrust Registration Agent. This process consists of validating the information provided against independent data sources and sources within your company. Once the application is approved, usually within three business days, a Welcome Letter is mailed to the address provided. Please allow up to 5 days for the Welcome Letter to arrive in the mail. Retrieval Once the Welcome Letter is received in the mail, follow the instructions to retrieve your ACES Business Representative Certificate.

Getting Started

Log onto the IdenTrust website at www.IdenTrust.com. Locate the BUY button for ACES certificates located on the right side of the web page. Click on BUY. Identify which certificate you would like to purchase (Business Representative or Unaffiliated Individual) and click on BUY again. You will see a screen like the one below and you have begun your application process.

This page will introduce you to the application, which will consist of approximately 19 pages. Be aware that you need to be prepared with company information (such as your corporate office address), as well as payment information – as your application session will time out after only a few minutes, if not in use.

Enter Your Passphrase

Please enter a passphrase that you will remember. This Passphrase will be needed to retrieve your certificate once it is approved. Please remember your passphrase or store it in a secure place, as it cannot be retrieved once you have submitted it. It is stored in an unreadable format, so support personnel have no access to the original text you submit. If you cannot remember your passphrase or answers to your secret questions, you will have to purchase a new digital certificate.

Thank you for applying with IdenTrust for an ACES business representative certificate. We have received your application and have begun the approval process. Please mail your completed Business Representative Authorization Form to us promptly to expedite our review of your application. To complete the form, have an authorized employee of your organization sign on the bottom of part I. Next, take the form to a licensed notary employed by a financial institution or your company, present a government-issued photo identification card and sign part II of the form in the presence of the notary. Once your signature has been notarized, record the name and address of the notary's employer at the bottom of the page. Additional copies of the form can be found online at the ACES TrustSource(SM) Certificate Center at: http://www.IdenTrust.com/certificates/aces_cert_management.html Mail the completed, notarized form to: Attn: ACES Registration Desk IdenTrust 255 North Admiral Byrd Road Salt Lake City, UT 84116 The approval process is normally completed within three business days after receipt of your completed forms. You can check the status of your application at any time by going to http://www.identrust.com/app-status.html. You will need the following information in order to check your application process: Application ID, provided below, and your passphrase that you entered during your application process. Application ID: xxxxxx Upon approval, we will send you a message indicating our approval of your application and the steps necessary to retrieve your ACES certificate. Soon afterward, you will receive a approval letter in the mail with an activation code that you will use to retrieve your certificate. If we are unable to approve your application, we will mail you a letter with an explanation. Also, please remember to keep track of your passphrase. You must be able to provide your passphrase at the time you retrieve your certificate.
