The Mayor said he would be glad to differ to his favorite State Senator...and hope that the calls
are friendly. Thursday, April 7th will work best for Mayor Fields. His guest wil be Captain Ben
Gremillion, head of Senior Services for the Pineville Police Department. I'll send you some
talking points next week.

THANKS....and glad your are streaming now!

Rich,
Would it be possible to move the Mayor's interview to Monday or Thursday of next week? I, by
mistake, scheduled Sen. Joe McPherson for Tuesday. It was the only he day he was available.

Subject: Listener Forum

Hey Dave,

Didn't get a chance to hear the whole show this morning so I picked
up the rest of it this afternoon. I heard you mention the Listener
Forum, which I hadn't visited in some time, so I decided to take a
trip over to the Forum. Boy was I surprised at some of the things I
read!!!

I guess I was most surprised to learn that I'm going to be the next
State Representative!!! And that I'm Larry Jeans (sic) choice! And
that Roy O. Martin is pushing me to run with big promises of
funding!!! Whew! What a news scoop! Such a scoop that I didn't even
know it myself!

I guess I really can't complain because 1)I am a "public figure"
having been elected to public office and 2)they at least spelled my
name right. <GRIN> But I am disturbed by the way people can
impersonate others. The VoyForums provide no way to prove who the
poster is or to prevent others from faking who the Author is. I saw
several messages from "Rich", "RD", "Clarence", "Rick", "Larry's
wife", etc that I'm sure are NOT from the individuals you think of
when you see those names. In addition, I saw a post from "Elda"
complaining that someone was forging messages in her name. This is
a significant problem and an impediment to the Forum becoming a
viable, respected community outlet.

Is there any way you could change the settings of the Forum to only
allow registered users to post? Something like that would
definitely cut down on the abuse. Even if you choose not to do
that, then perhaps don't let people choose whatever name they want
to post from. A message from "Unknown" or "Unregistered" won't do
as much damage as from a forged identity. Just a suggestion.

Sincerely,
Nathan

P.S. I don't know what type of features Network Telephone
Corporation allows on your website, but I would strongly recommend
some sort of BBS system that encourages (and/or limits posting to)
registered users, such as phpBB or vBulletin. If NTC allows users
to install php scripts, either of these would be a good choice
(especially phpBB, which is used by many, many sites, including
politicsla.com). Since KSYL runs on Apache and has PHP 4.2.3
installed, you may well be allowed to run customer installed php
scripts. It all depends on what limitations NTC places on
customers. But hopefully you can do something about protecting the
integrity of the Forum. Otherwise it will be a joke, visited by
only those few who dominate it with their drivel and forgery and
basically ignored by everyone else. If I can be of any service on
the technical side, please let me know.

Subject: Permission to use interview

Hi Dave,

I heard the interview this morning with Mayor Fields and Chief Barber.
We'd like to ask your permission to post the file on our website so that
people can hear the interview even after it is no longer available on
KSYL.com. Obviously we'll give credit to you and KSYL. Please let me know
if that would be permissable.

Thanks,
Nathan

P.S. Keep up the great work - I really enjoy the morning shows!

Subject: FYI - 9th Judicial Court Race

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
Hi Dave,

Just wanted to give you a heads up on something involving the 9th Judicial District race. I sent an
email to Gene Mills of the Louisiana Family Forum asking him to clarify on the Moon Griffon
show regarding the candidates who responded to the LFF questionnaire. I'm forwarding the entire
message to you below since it partly involves KSYL or part of the controversy was heard on
KSYL. I think it would be good if you would ask each candidate about whether they sent in the
questionnaire or not and if they didn't, why didn't they. Was it because they didn't care enough
about family values? I'd rather my name not be mentioned but if necessary, that's fine. I'm not
trying to punish Mr. Walker but I am trying to clear the confusion and take away the club he's
unfairly beating the other candidates with.

Sincerely,
Nathan

Subject: Pineville visit

Just wanted to let you know that "the regularly scheduled guest" to accompany the Mayor is
ill...and I have been asked to join the big guy on the radio. After some hesitation, I agreed (lol).

Seriously, I have tried not to seem like too much of a shadow to the Mayor (please keep this
between friends) and have not joined him on our monthly visits since we began them so months
ago. I always look forward to being with you guys...and was hoping to get the opportunity to join
the Mayor in studio.

Some talking points of interest...

1) Improvements to Pineville's Gateway at the Purple Heart Bridge.

2) Cleanest City Contest in April

3) Main Street "Streetscape Improvements"

4) New tool for the Police Department

That's a couple of things to get us going. See ya in the morning!
