facilities. Clients include the Department of Defense, United Technologies,
AustarPharma, Home Land Energy, and Integrated Building Controls. Currently
providing energy management, Sustainable Design & Development, and Green Building
consulting services full time for the US Army.

Johnson Controls Inc - Business Development


Manager 2000 - 2003

Developed the High Performance Building, Sustainability Green Building Marketing


Plan for JCI in NJ.

Provided the Building Automation Systems, $800,000, for the first three LEED designed
public schools in New Jersey. Provided leadership sales role for energy services by
coaching and training sales personnel

Conducted seminars for clients on High Performance Facilities.


General Electric Corp - Senior Energy
Analyst 1997 - 2000

National engineering resource for GE – audited facilities nationwide to determine


energy and productivity savings.

Saved a major industrial client $1 million per year by installing a $4 million electrical
substation

Development 1995 - 1997 Developed and managed new business
commercial and industrial accounts in preparation for the upcoming competition in
the electrical utilities business resulting from deregulation.

Achieved sales leadership with the most contracts and total sales dollars. Closed on
$600,000 of business the first year. Identified $33,000,000 in opportunities, which led to
$3,000,000 in sales the following years.

JCP&L -Commercial/Industrial Account Manager


1993 - 1995

Account Manager to promote the overall efficiency of customer’s facilities operations


especially as related to electricity. This included performing energy-engineering audits,
rate analysis, financial analysis and payback analysis.

Managed the Electric Cooking Load Growth Program for large commercial and industrial
utility

Thomas J. Lipton - Facilities Operations Manager
1985 - 1993

Managed the operation and maintenance of one million sq. ft. of facilities, including the
Corporate Headquarters, Research & Development Laboratories, Pilot Plants, Executive
Offices and Sales Offices.

Managed a staff of 30 in the Maintenance Department, electricians, HVAC mechanics,


plumbers, and carpenters. Managed outasked service contractors such as landscaping,
security, painters, and janitorial services.

Managed construction projects to upgrade, expand and repair existing facilities. These
included a $600,000 asbestos abatement project and a $450,000 Laboratory, Office, and
Pilot Plant Renovation

Developed specifications and standards for A/E Consultants and Construction


Contractors. Solicited and evaluated bids negotiated and awarded contracts. Managed and
Supervised the contractors to ensure their performance.

Was awarded the Sir Thomas Lipton Award for outstanding achievement in reducing
energy costs, approximately $130,000/year. Conceptualized, developed and presented to
Lipton management a $1.5 million capital improvement plan that led to $500,000 in
energy savings the first year.

Princeton University Plasma Physics Lab – Facilities Project Manager


1980 - 1985

Developed Budgets and Managed the $5 million General Plant Program, GPP, for this
premier DOE nuclear fusion research lab. Managed a project development
Architect/Engineer teams consisting of in-house and external consultants for facility
construction and energy projects. These included HVAC systems for labs and offices,
computer rooms, boilers, chillers and automatic temperature controls.

Performed economic analysis of energy conservation projects and other payback projects.
This included simple and discounted paybacks, lease buy comparisons, savings to
investment ratios, and life cycle costing analysis.

Process Improvements included the consolidation of all environmental engineering


activities to be under my management, such as the National Pollution Discharge
Elimination System, NPDES, Spill Prevention and Countermeasures Plan, SPCC.
General Foods, Maxwell House Division - Process Engineer
1975 -1979

Focused on cost reduction, yield improvements, productivity gains and energy efficiency.
When the energy crisis of the 1970’s arrived, I was promoted to the role of Plant Energy
Manager. I analyzed the plant’s energy consumption and led the Plant Energy Team
whose job it was to save energy and reduce costs. Also, I initiated and developed a
change in the decaffeination process that reduced costs, improved energy consumption
and saved process resources.
