Games 2014 Games Community Challenge Rules & Regulations 2014 MBA Games and the Inside Ride This year, the MBA Games Planning Committee wants you to engage with a great national charity, Inside Ride. This challenge will be scored in the spirit category, and is mandatory for all Games 2014 participating teams. There are two components to this challenge; the first is fundraising. Each participating team will be responsible for raising funds for this great charity prior to the start of the Games. Funds raised at the MBA Games edition of Inside Ride will go towards POGO- Childhood Cancer Resources. Developed by the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, the program is aimed at student survivors of childhood cancer with academic challenges related to their disease/treatment history. It is focused on facilitating admission to existing vocational or academic programs, to enabling students to successfully complete these programs, and to obtain and maintain employment afterwards. The second component is an actual bike ride that will take place on the morning of Saturday, January 4th, 2014. Each team can have a minimum of 2 riders and a maximum of 6 riders to complete the 1 hr and 15 min bike ride. Inside Ride will provide state of the art racing bicycles, mounted and held stationary on stands complete with mileage odometers. Distance travelled within the 1 hr. 15 min. of riding time will be recorded. Points will be allocated for completion of this challenge and will be part of the teams Spirit Score. Teams will be awarded additional spirit points for coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on the mileage, funds raised, as well as points for the best team costume. Fundraising Guidelines Each team will be responsible for fundraising. Team Captains from each of the participating MBA Games Teams will be invited to sign-up under the MBA Games Fundraising Page by the Inside Ride An invitation to join the MBA Games fundraising page will be sent out in the coming weeks and teams will be allowed to fundraise from the beginning of November and run right up until January 3, 2014. Each participating team will have its own fundraising page that supporters can donate to online. Online registration is important as information provided by the teams (including team name) will be used to make labels for each teams bike for the day of the race. Donations will be registered and tracked by the Inside Ride through the MBA Games fundraising portal. Cash and cheques are all acceptable forms of donations; however, we highly recommend online donations through the secure event website. Donors will do all the data entry for you and will receive their tax receipts immediately in their email for donations of $20 or more.

o Cheques to be payable to The Inside Ride. Tax receipts will be issued by the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation for donations of $20 or greater. Full mailing addresses are a federal requirement to issue a tax receipt and must be captured online or on the pledge sheets (to be provided in the coming weeks). Donations made by cash or cheque with fully documented pledge forms are issued electronically generally within 16 weeks of the events. Tax receipts will be mailed by Canada Post where email addresses are not provided.

Ride Guidelines Each team will participate in a 1 hr and 15 min bike ride (on indoor, stationary race bikes) Saturday, January 4, 2014 (teams may send a minimum of 2 individuals and up to 6 to complete the ride). Each cyclist per team (of 4-6) should expect to cycle for 5 10 min. to heart-pounding, uplifting music as cyclists rotate through the event. Smaller teams will have participants on bikes longer than larger teams. Volunteers will record the distance for each team and ensure that participants are well hydrated throughout the cycling time. Teams are encouraged to dress up for the ride as points will be awarded for best costume by the Inside Ride judges so bring fun costumes! Judging Criteria Points will be allocated for completion of this challenge and will be part of the teams Spirit Score. Teams will be awarded spirit points for participating in this event. Individual school teams will be awarded spirit points for coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on the amount of dollars raised overall. Top male and females with the highest individual fundraising will be recognized at the end of the cycling event. Teams will be awarded spirit points for coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on the mileage as well as points for the best team costume. MBA Games 2014 Live Performance Competition Rules & Regulations Opening Ceremony Live Performance Competition Continuing with the tradition of the previous Opening Ceremonies, the MBA Games Planning Committee is inviting each team to develop a fun and energetic introduction to be performed live on Friday, January 3rd, 2014. Each team will be responsible for coming up with an original and creative introduction that represents their team and their school. This can be a range of performance such as cheer, chant, advertisement, demonstration, or dance anything goes! Rules & Regulations Performances must not exceed two (2) minutes in length. No copyrighted material of any kind is to be used without consent, including but not limited to: music, sound/audio files, images/photographs, logos, brands, and licensed products. Each team will only be allowed to perform once and participation is mandatory for each team member. Judging Criteria Points will be allocated for completion of this challenge and will be part of the teams Spirit Score. Performances will be judged by a panel of 4 judges comprised of a mix of industry professionals and MBA Games Planning Committee members. Teams will be awarded spirit points for coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on the following criteria: Originality Energy Use of all team members Messaging Overall memorability The winner will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, January 5th. Important Note If teams require the use of Audio Visual systems for the Opening Ceremony files (audio and/or visual) must be submitted to the MBA Games Planning Committee no later than December 13th, 2013. This to ensure that all files will be compatible with the system being used at the Opening Ceremony.

2014 MBA Games Video Competition Rules & Regulations Video Competition Topic At the 2014 MBA Games teams will need to produce a short video describing how their team connects business and creativity. The video can be an advertisement, marketing video, a demonstration, an illustration, a music video, anything that will present the teams view on this years theme of Connect the Dots. All team videos will be posted online, and teams must share the link to try to acquire as many views and likes as possible. Rules & Regulations Videos must not exceed two (2) minutes in length. All video content should be original. No copyrighted material of any kind is to be used without consent, including but not limited to: music, sound/audio files, images/photographs, logos, brands, and licensed products. Limit one video per team. Teams are invited to submit their videos to the MBA Games Planning Committee via email (see submission details below). Videos must be submitted in one of the following file formats: o .avi, .mpegps, .mov, .wmv, .mpeg4 Videos will then be posted on the MBA Games 2014 YouTube channel. Teams will then need to share their video and try to get as many likes as possible (in other words use your social media gurus to make it go viral). NOTE: All video entries shall become the property of the 2014 MBA Games Planning Committee and will not be returned nor will a copy be provided to the participants. By entering this competition, each candidate permits the 2013 MBA Games Planning Committee, its agents, promotional agencies, representatives and competition judges to collect the information submitted with their entry and to use it in publicity carried out by the 2014 MBA Games Planning Committee. Judging Criteria Points will be allocated for completion of this challenge and will be part of the teams Spirit Score. Teams will then earn additional points for coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on online votes on the MBA Games YouTube channel. Important Notes Teams must submit their video to the MBA Games Planning Committee no later than Friday, November 29th, 2013. It is the responsibility of the participating teams to ensure their submission arrives on time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
