theANDC2010 QUINTESSENCE

IES-13

INTRODUCTION The project is an attempt to create an urban space which is purely based on the utopian thoughts and which generates rich, pleasurable and stimulating experience and a timeless experience aesthetics to be enjoyed by all. The project aims to examine the emergence of the new form and language in architecture with an emphasis on structural integrity. form can be projected only with the description of certain aspects that include shape, massive scale, proportion, rhythm, articulation, colour and light while structural plays a vital

role in binding all these elements together and provide stability. hence an attempt is here made to incorporate all these elements through quintessence, the real essence of all or can be said to be the perfect example for all.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE: to create an utopian community through architecture that aims at the development of an induvidual and thereby the development of the society and the nation. to provide entertainment and recreation in a unique ambience make the hub for the people for the standard living access to all the classes of the society. provide the people with better entertainment and recreation compared to the other hubs by integrating aesthetics, form and function with technical standard. to provide people with socio-cultural environment in which they can interact with each other, relax and interact with the surroundings.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY: Analysis of the present context in which the building is going to be set, which includes the study of the physical ,social and site conditions as well as the historical context

The second phase includes the studying, analysing and modifying the needs and demands of the modern city. Quintessence- perfect example for quality or the real essence in anything

UTOPIA Anything is No Longer A Puzzle, Once All of Its Pieces Are Put Together" Once the truth is known it becomes self evident that Humanity is simply a journey through the third dimension. When one is on a journey they should know their destination. Since every human dreams of a better life, Humanity's common destination should be Utopia, which is what religion refers to as heaven, and which is the best existence obtainable. Since the truth is that one will not be handed the Utopia of heaven on a silver platter simply by worshiping a false god, then it must be concluded that Utopia will only come through Humanity's own efforts. Humanity can and must make its own path in the third dimension. Humanity should strive to make its own heaven, a heaven on earth, a Utopia. Only a unified belief and effort by humans will bring Utopia, a heaven on earth, to Humanity. Humanity's true salvation is through the unified pursuit of Utopia. Utopia can happen if you ask not what Humanity can do for you, but what you can do for Humanity. The first step on the stairway to Utopia is to define what Utopia is, and thereby set forth what goal Humanity should strive to reach. UTOPIA IS GENERALLY DEFINED AS A PLACE OF IDEAL PERFECTION IN ALL ASPECTS OF EXISTENCE. Once Humanity knows Utopia is the house it wants to live in, Humanity can begin to build that house. Since Utopia is the blueprint for Humanity's house, the next step is to determine what materials are needed to assemble that house. There are five basic elements to Utopia. These elements are: 1. Everlasting life; 2. All good and no evil; 3. Infinite provision of all tangible and intangible needs and wants for existence, without any required effort to obtain those provisions;

4. A perfect balance between the individual and society; and 5. Complete knowledge. THE INDUVIDUAL AND THE SOCIETY Currently, individuals must sacrifice some of their freedom in order to live in society, such as for example not being able to play loud music in an apartment building. Additionally, even if one lives in a free society, their freedom is limited by the need to earn a living, which subjects them to spending time in a dictatorship environment if they work for an employer, or the slavery of being tied to operating their own business. Eventually, robots, computers, and machines will be able to perform all work that needs to be done, and by themselves create unlimited production capabilities, which will free humans from the binding chains of earning a living and therefore allow humans the true freedom to pursue happiness and fulfillment. This unlimited production capability and technological advancement will 4 also allow for the solution to the problem of limitations from living in a society, such as providing sound proof housing so that one can blast music without adversely affecting others.

Once Utopia is achieved, it would be possible for each individual to live in an environment that suits whatever needs and desires that individual has. Everyone would have their own heaven. Every human institution has a guiding mission statement or philosophy. Yet there is no specific global plan for Humanity's future. Without a plan, happenstance determines destination. Instead of leaving its fate up to chance, Humanity should select its own destination. Since Utopia is the best Humanity can perceive, Utopia should be Humanity's guiding philosophy. This ultimate philosophy of striving for the best life possible for everyone, can be one global element of common sense and common purpose in an otherwise complex and fragmented world. Utopian philosophy can be the goal that unites the world for good and noble actions. THE SITE "The French Riviera of the East". Plan of the city based on fractal FRACTALS

A fractal is generally "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole,"[1] a property called self-similarity.
A fractal often has the following features: It has a fine structure at arbitrarily small scales. It is too irregular to be easily described in traditional Euclidean geometric language.

It is self-similar (at least approximately or stochastically). It has a Hausdorff dimension which is greater than its topological dimension (although this requirement is not met by space-filling curves such as theHilbert curve). It has a simple and recursive definition.

Look outside your window you may see a fractal cloud at any moment

Statistical self-similarity This is the weakest type of self-similarity; the fractal has numerical or statistical measures which are preserved across scales. Most reasonable definitions of "fractal" trivially imply some form of statistical self-similarity. (Fractal dimension itself is a numerical measure which is preserved across scales.) Random fractals are examples of fractals which are statistically self-similar, but neither exactly nor quasi-self-similar.

One of the most famous deterministic fractals was described by Von Koch and is called the Koch Curve. Consider starting with a single straight line that we will call the initiator. The initiator

_______________ Next is to define a generator, or production rule, that states "Take the initiator, scale it down by a factor r=1/3, make N=4 copies and replace the initiator by these scaled down copies, oriented as shown".

The Generator

The generator is repeated...

and repeated...

and repeated.....

etc..... After an infinite number of repetitions this curve will be everywhere non-differentiable and will also have infinite length.
