Please pray that the Lord would show the Elders how we can effectively pursue transformational discipleship at WHAC. Please pray that the Lord would raise up a Discipleship ministry leader, in addition to a Hospitality ministries leader to work alongside our Elders Board in growing these ministries in the church. Praise the Lord for the ministry start up at West Harbour Gardens. Please pray that the Lord would powerfully work both in and through those who serve in this ministry. Praise the Lord that a night has been set aside for Ladies’ Night (Nov. 22), and that a speaker has been found (Annette Bennett). Please pray that the planning team would know the Lord’s direction, and that the night would be used powerfully to bring women to Christ. Pray for peace in Egypt, where violent demonstrators have attacked more than 70 churches since August 14; the extremists also destroyed dozens of Christian homes and buildings. Pray that God will protect the believers and that God will help Christians in Egypt to love and forgive those who persecute them.

Are you new to this facility?
We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that:
The toilets are located down the passage to the right as you exit the sanctuary. The Preschool ministry begins at the start of the service in the foyer, and 3-13 year olds are dismissed part way through the service for Sunday School. Information on who we are, as well as on all of our ministries are available online at www.whac.net.nz Each week, we share a cuppa together after the service, and would love for you to stay for a chat.

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN AT WHAC
Ages 0-2 We have a supervised creche in the north side of the foyer. Parents are welcome to either drop their kids off, or stay with them. On any un-staffed weeks, facilities will be provided, but parents will need to supervise their own children. Our Kid’s Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children. Reorient: Prayer Prayer is an important part of what we do at WHAC. Every week, we meet on Wednesday nights from 7.30 to pray for our church and community, while also gathering on Sunday mornings in the hall from 9:30 to pray for our worship times. Please join us for either or both, or simply drop a prayer request into the prayer box at the rear of the th Sanctuary. Also, mark October 13 on your calendars as we’ll be praying from 5:30-6:30 with our Chinese sister church – WHCACC. . Oswald Chambers has wisely commented on the transforming power of even 5 minutes in the presence of the Lord. Indeed, even a short time spent in intercession and the Word still has great value: “It is not the thing on which we spend the most time that moulds us, but the thing that exerts the greatest power. Five minutes with God and His Word is worth more than all the rest of the day.” Now, it may sound like Chambers has made an overstatement. Yet powerful results can come from even a short time of prayer, because God is powerful.
Sometimes our days are filled with busy demands that crowd out time spent in listening to and responding to God. But no matter where we are, any time taken to build our own spiritual “altar” to the Lord as Abram did (Gen. 12:8) opens the door to His transforming power.
