Monday, June 2, 2008 My First Confession OK, so I have a confession to make. However, this is nothing like "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen". This is better! So, there I was this weekend, company sponsored party with tons of free alcohol. Well, you can imagine what happened next. That's right I committed the cardinal sin. I cockblocked a fellow Manly Man. OK he wasn't exactly a Manly Man, but he was half a man and there he was hitting on a HCHHSSTT and instead of trying to help him, I cockblocked. I'm not proud of it, and in all fairness I was cock-

blocked by a fellow Manly Man as well, especially one who would in his normal senses never do such a thing. .It occurs to me, that when you consume tons of alcohol, you really lose control of yourself. You give in to the dark side. This dark side is not good. I mean here I am the preacher of Wingmanness, and I let every body down by cockblocking. Today, I make a vow never to again cockblock no matter how drunk I get. How you ask am I going to do this? Simple, If I ever cockblock I will make it up to the person by buying their drinks for the night. Since I am so cheap, I have a feeling that will stop me and if it doesn't well we'll have to come up with an alternative plan. Cockblocking is evil and I am ashamed of myself. Self employed, Sultanate of Oman. April 1992 – M h 1993 March 1993. Creative Consultant Worked on a mega audio-visual presentation on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of Oman. This was a 1 hour 45 minutes slide and sound program that was presented, on the occasion of the 22nd National Day, before His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and an audience of 30,000 at the Sohar Football Stadium. The A/V was projected on a screen 100 metres long and nine and a half metres high. We used 4 sets of Xenon projectors to project on this giant screen. Sabco Advertising, Sultanate of Oman. The Indian Experience...
RK Swamy/BBDO, Bombay. Oct 1988 – Dec 1989. Creative Group Supervisor Creative/Audio-visual production My achievements: 1. Successful re-launch of Taster’s Choice Coffee for Nestle via an audio-visual presentation at a series of Press and Dealer Conferences in three Metros – Delhi, Bombay and Madras. 2 A mega multi-projector presentation for the General Insurance Corporation (later converted to video) made to the then Minister of Commerce in Delhi. 3. Getting an Advertising Club Award for a TVC for New India Assurance. 4. Winning a part of the Nuclear Corporation of India account for RK Swamy/BBDO. 5. Learning how to interact with the different levels of decision making in the Public Contour Advertising, Bombay. Nov 1982 – Sept 1988 Copy Chief Copy/Creative/Audio-visual production My achievements: 1. Helping the agency to win big-budget clients such as Nuclear Power Corporation, New India Assurance, and ONGC – amongst others. 2. Winning an Advertising Club Award for a television commercial. 3. Gaining invaluable experience on the production and planning of A/V projects. 4. Getting hands-on experience, and learning first-hand from the “gurus” in marketing while handling their accounts. 5. Gaining in-depth experience of being a team player while leading from the front and working to the most impossible deadline without sacrificing originality, creativity or efficiency. Make pitches to the agencies and win accounts: Living Sound could boast a roster of the top agencies in Bombay: JWT, O&M, MCM, Ulka, Clarian McCann and Lintas.
