Orun Ifa and Our Wishes (Orun Ifa owun Edun Okan Wa) By Chief FAMA Today is Ose Ifa (Ifa Worship Day) and is Orun Ifa in particular. retention of what we already have.We should go before Ifa with obi abata meji. Obatala takes obi ifin (white obi abata) and no oti and epo pupa. be it in the form of friendship. As humans. or reverence. so. arrogance. and our own special iwure (prayers). Osanyin takes ataare. bi mo wure Ire ti emi. some of the central offerings can be given to the Orisas today. The above partial chant from a verse of an Odu Ifa will be a potent back up to our individual and collective prayers to Odumare today. Esu accepts all the listed items. With all this in mind. we constantly yearn for some things. How? We should approach the Orisas with our honest of purpose. Ogun accepts all the items. oti. we should offer our usual obi abata meji. the desire. conclude today's iwure with the chant below. The exception is Sango who takes only orogbo. relationship. humility. epo pupa pupo (generous amount of epo pupa). Sometimes. if we are truthfully unable to meet certain. we sometimes do not realize that the conscious thought of any of the above activities is a form of an iwure (prayer) from us to the unseen energy we believe exists somewhere and whom we call Odumare (God). even if we are not still. ko ni ṣe aigba . ataare mesan (9 seeds for male) or meje (seven seeds for female). eku meji. or additions to our possessions. and every day as a unique presence of Odumare in our lives. oti. our media are the Orisas. We may then chant: Bi mo duro. do not give obi abata to Sango. this strong desire slips into our subconscious state of rest —sleep—at which stage we dream about the thing: the thought. orogbo. Yet. we should present our offerings with genuine love. needs. The central offerings include obi abata. epo pupa. via the Irunmoles. If we are lucky to have all or most of these desires. Some of us appreciate Odumare more and regard each gift as a blessing. and ataare. orogbo meji. On this day of Ose Ifa dear Awo. too. ataare. A ji ire ni oni o (we wake up with ire today-"Good Morning"). epo pupa. orogbo meji. eja meji or obi adiye meji (two hen). but substitute omi tutu with emu ope (palm wine) or oti. omi tutu.
