Law of Ad & PR | Fall 2013 • Learning the laws and regulations of different types of speech, First Amendment rights and how it applies to advertising and public relations practitioners. Global Ad & PR | Spring 2013 • Traveled to London with group of faculty-selected students. Conducted research on topic of choice in the public relations field and created a blog to showcase work. PR Online Tactics| Spring 2013 • Created and maintained a blog. Learned SEO and best practices for writing on the web. Media Relations & Publicity | Spring 2013 • Prepared series of media kits and press releases for client of choice. Performed media monitoring for real-world client. Print Beat Reporting | Spring 2012 • Served as the College of Communication and Information beat reporter. Duties were to find story topics, conduct interviews, and write stories to submit to Daily Kent Stater.

Bateman Case Study Competition | Spring 2013
• Invited to work in a group of facultyselected students to research, create, implement, and evaluate a real-world public relations case study for PRSSA’s National Bateman Case Study Competition. Objective was to partner with a local school to reduce childhood bullying. Submitted case book to be judged against 70 other universities across the country.

Elected as the Vice President of Fundraising for the 2013-2014 school year for PRSSA Kent. Implemented a silent auction for homecoming that brought in over $2,000 for the chapter.
