Next week our benevolent offering will be received for Cedars Deacons Fund. Currently this fund is at $4,568.34. The deacons have set a goal of $5,000.00 for this fund in order to have adequate resources available to help those in need. November Thank Offering During the month of November, Cedar Church will collect our annual Thank Offering for the work of OPC Foreign & Home Missions and Christian Education. Each Sunday in November, we will highlight one aspect of the OPCs ministry that is served by this offering. Please remember this ministry generously. ANNOUNCEMENTS Reception of New Members The session is pleased to announce that we will receive Kiersten Holstege and Brittany DeWent as communicant members of Cedar Church by profession of faith on Sunday, November 3. ANNOUNCEMENTS Ottawa County Jail Ministry On Sunday, October 27th, Cedar Church will host a chapel service at the Ottawa County Jail from 1:45 PM - 3:00 PM. Please see Pastor Steve if you would like to attend. Mission Trip Deacon Duane Saxton has the privilege to go on an overseas mission trip to India in November. He will be helping supply new equipment to show the Jesus Film in rural villages. The equipment is carried in a backpack and includes solar cells to charge batteries to power the projector. If you are not familiar with the Jesus Film, it is a well done, factual, powerful account of Jesus' ministry, death on the cross, and Resurrection. The same film is shown across the globe, but local actors dub in the voices, and tell the Gospel in 1,160 different languages. 2014 Budget Process During the month of October, the Cedar Deacons will be preparing a draft Church Budget to distribute to the congregation in the month of November. Please see a deacon if you have any suggested line items for the first draft of the budget. Womens Conference 2013 Its not too late to sign up for this year's Women's Bible Conference on October 25-26 at Harvest OPC. Speaker Mary Beeke will share her thoughts on how we can become God's kind of woman. See Corrie Post to sign up today! Care Packages for Our College Students On October 30, the Cedar Girls Club will once again be packing up goodies for our college students. Please help the girls let our college students know Cedar is thinking about them by donating items to fill the care packages. Items can be placed in the box in the hallway. Questions? COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS Volunteers Opportunity - Loves Treasures Resale Shoppe is looking for volunteers in prep, clothing and display. Morning and afternoon shifts are available and training is always provided. If you are interested, please contact Corrie at corriek@loveinthenameofchrist.org or (616) 662-3300 ext 118. Ministry Project Needs - Love INC is currently undertaking additional ministry projects by partnering with local organizations and agencies to supply baby items to those in need. 3 dozen of each of the following new items are needed: baby bottles, baby blankets, new baby outfits (size 0-3 months and 6 months), baby onesies, baby shampoo, baby lotion, diaper ointment, baby pacifiers, baby bibs, baby socks, baby washcloths, baby bath towels, baby teethers and baby rattles. Items can be brought to Love INC, 3300 Van Buren Street, Hudsonville. A tax receipt will be provided. Contact Tonia at 616-662-3300 ext 122 with questions. Clothing Ministry Need - The Clothing ministry of Love INC is in need of new underwear for boys (boxers or underwear with characters on it are preferred) and men (boxers or boxer briefs preferred). Items can be brought to Love INC, 3300 Van Buren Street, Hudsonville. A tax receipt will be provided.
Hearing assist units are available from the soundmen located at the left side of the auditorium. Please feel free to ask for one. For the benefit of those who would like to hear the service while caring for a little one, we have a cry room equipped with speakers located in the Teachers Lounge across the hall from the gym. You are welcome to use this as needed. Bibles and hymnals are available on a cart at the back of the auditorium. If you are new to Cedar, please stop by our literature table in the foyer for more information about Cedar and a gift for you. Please take time to let us know more about you by filling out the connection card included in the bulletin and placing it in the offering plate.

If you need any assistance, please ask one of our greeters for help. SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE Cedar Church strives to enjoy God through Spirit-empowered and Christ-centered worship. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday. A NURSERY is available near the entrance of the gymnasium, but children are always welcome in the worship service. COFFEE BREAK After the morning worship, please join us in the gym for coffee and refreshments.
