DIRECTIONS: El Chorro Regional Park, Hwy 1, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 - Exit Hwy 101 at Santa Rosa (Hwy 1) exit. • From south turn right on Torro, right on Walnut and right again on Santa Rosa Hwy 1 and head out of town. • From south turn left on Santa Rosa Hwy 1 and head out of town. • Approximately 5 miles out of SLO turn right at Dairy Creek Road and follow signs to race parking.

THE COURSE: The course is a mix of dirt, grass and some pavement. Fast start on hard packed dirt, mostly flat with 1 run up, 1 barrier section and natural sand. Each lap is approximately in length. Races are timed circuits on the course based on category. Course will be run opposite direction on the second day with some minor changes to keep things challenging.

Race Day registration opens at 7:00am then 2 hours prior to each race wave start then closes 20 minutes prior to each wave start. RULES: Event will be held rain or shine. No refunds. Bicycle and wheel changes are allowed in the designated pit areas only. Helmets required. Water feeds are allowed. Cyclocross or hard tail mountain bikes (no bar ends) are best for handling the terrain and obstacles on course as well as getting on the off the bike. Mountain Bike pedals and shoes are preferred or flat pedals with trail running shoes for beginners. This event is held under USA Cycling Permit. 2013 USAC rules apply. Warming up on the Course Once the last rider has crossed the line in the current active wave, the race officials will allow riders to “pre-ride” the course to become familiar with route and obstacles. Please enter the course past the finish line and do not pass or enter in front of riders who are still racing on the course. As in the past, while pre-riding do not cross the finish line while the timing system is running and do not pass active racers on course. There will always be enough time to complete one lap before the next race starts. Once the next race has started, warming up on the course is not allowed. CATEGORIES: Senior (over 18 years of age in 2014) and Masters categories may be listed by ability as well as age. Ability categories are as follows: A B C USAC Road/CX Cat 1 and 2, MTB Cat 1/Expert and anyone else who chooses to race at this level. USAC Road/CX Cat 3 and 4, MTB Cat 2/Sport and anyone who chooses to race at this level. USAC Road 4 and 5, CX 4, MTB Cat 3/Beginner. New racers or those trying Cyclocross for the first time.

The Prestige Series discourages sandbagging. Please upgrade to the higher category. USA Cycling does not recognize American Bicycle Racing events for CX category upgrades or USAC national ranking points. CYCLOCROSS RACING AGE: A rider’s racing age for the 2013-14 Cyclocross Season is the 'racing age' the year in which the CX World Championships take place which is February, 2014. Basically your racing age for the entire Cyclocross season running September 2013 through January 2014 is your age as of 12/31/2014. RESULTS: Race results will be posted near the awards area immediately following each race. Please make sure to check your results within the 15-minute posting/protest period or they will be final.
