Chapter 9 ---"What?!?!?", I am pissed. Why would she do that to my man? "I just told you.

She hypnotized me and forced me to have intercourse with her. You are acting like I liked it.", his voice gets a little firm. I sense a little guilt in his voice. "Did you?", I struggle to get out fighting off my tears. I am now fed up with him. His facial expression is blank. He is looking down at the beautiful white expensive sand. I don't bother to hear his answer. I attempt to walk off, but Chase grabs my arm. "Did you!", I yell as I snatch away. I can't believe he liked it. "Yes, but-", I stop him in his tracks with a hard slap. I walk away, but again Chase runs up to me, and gives me a long kiss. "I love you Hailey. She meant nothing to me. How do you think I feel. You kissed Nathan more than once and you liked it.", he says this with jealousy. "That would have never happened if you would have never left.", I remark smartly. Chase grinds his teeth together, trying to ignore what I had just said to him. "Look. If you want me to leave, then I will. You keep bringing that up, when I told you it was for a good cause. I would have never left if I wasn't thinking about the sake of your life, and even your sister's life! Why would I, or anyone want to leave the love of their life? It hurts Hailey. Every second. Every minute. Every day. Hell, every moment without you is like hell on Earth. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I want you to feel the same way, but it can't happen if you keep bringing up the past.", he sounds very emotional. I do love him, it's just that we have this missing wall now that we need to rebuild. "Look. I brought you here so that we can

have a good time, so let's not talk about that now.", he rubs my chin looking me right in the eyes. This makes me smile in comfort. He holds my hand, and shows me to a beautiful picnic set out in front of the ocean. It's a perfect view of the water, and trees. "What is she like.", I bring up the conversation even though he suggested we had not bring it up. "Who?", he looks at me a little confused. "Niya? Whatever her name is.", I wave my hand as if I didn't care. "Oh, you mean Nala.", he sighs atfer saying this. "She is forceful, and somewhat aggressive.", he glances at the waves swifting up on our feet and back off the sand. "Did you ever go out with her?", I try to make him look me in the eyes, but he doesn't budge. He continues to watch the water. "Isn't it beautiful?", he tries to ignore the question. He finally looks up at me slightly smiling. "Did you ever go out with her?", I say firmly. His half-smile fades away. "Well. . .we went out off and on from 1694 to 1720, then, in 1814 we got married. We divorced in 1899, because things just didn't work out between us. We still saw each other after the divorce, because we both worked at the VGA, but I left for a while.", he explains "Don't worry about her. I am completely over Nala.", he finishes. He looks very nervous. If they were together that long, I am sure that he still has some feelings for her deep down inside. "When you left me, did you two see each other at the VGA?", I look at his nervous face. "She always came to my room, and we talked, and occasionally she tried to get intimate with me, but I turned her down; but I don't think that counts as 'seeing' each other,", he isn't lying. I can see it in his eyes. I am a little jealous by this though. He could have done anything with her

while he was there. Especially when you work there you get your own room. There isn't any telling what they did in each other's rooms. But I can't let my imagination get the best of me. I have to trust him if we're trying to get past this. I don't want to talk about this anymore. I want this date to be about Chase and I. Not Chase, Nala, and Nathan. No discussions about Nala and Nathan. "I am still in shock that you bought me this huge place.", I say smiling. "I did it because I love you.", He nuzzles my nose. (rubs his nose against mine) He always does this instead of kissing me. "You know it would be better if you just kissed me.", I flirt. "Okay. Kiss on aisle one!", Chase yells clapping his hands together looking aaround as if people were watching. We both break out into laughter. "You are so stupid!", I playfully shove him in the arm. Chase leans fowards and kisses me passionately. When we finish smooching, I notice the horizon caused by the setting sun. "Isn't it beautiful?", I am now resting my head on Chase's shoulder. I know that this is sort of an inresponsive question, so I am not surprised that Chase didn't answer. "You know this island is all yours, and you can come here whenever you want. When you feel sad, or down, or just need some time alone. This is the place to come and cool down and relax.", he looks at me, then up at 4 passing seagulls. "I know that now.", I watch the seagulls also. Chase's beautiful blue eyes are sparkling in the sun. Nathan's gray eyes are much more beautiful, although they are on the same level of appearance. "You know, this isn't all I have for you.", Chase looks at me as the water glistens in his eyes. Wow. I am so appauled. "Chase, this island is enough. You had to have spent a

fortune on it, and now something else? In a way, I am flattered, but- I don't want to spend all of your money.", I am serious. I really don't want to spend all of his money. It makes me feel like I'm a 'Gold Digger'. "Hailey. 500 years of saving up money. How much do you think I have if I have been saving up for 500 years?", he has a questioned look on his face. Oh. I didn't know that he was saving up that long. "Well. . .", I am speachless. That is a lot of money if you think about it. "Nevermind that. I still have something else special for you.", he looks at me wih those sparkling eyes. "Come with me.", Chase gets up from the blanket that I am sitting on, and I follow. "Where are we going?", I want to know. "The present is at my house, so we'll have to go back home.", he doesn't look at me when he says this. He is to busy focusing on transporting. "Hey,", I stop him in his tracks. He forgot to hold my hand, but it's too late. Chase is already gone. The impact on the transportation knocks me down. Suddenly, there is a loud sound and Chase is back. "Sorry,", Chase says laughing. "Once you said that, I had just noticed that I wasn't holding your hand, and I was already gone.", he is still laughing. Despite the fact that he left me, it was kind of funny. "Well, at least you came back.", Chase attempts to grab my hand, but I pull away. "What? Is something wrong?", he looks as if this action caught him off-guard. "Nothing's wrong. I was just thinking. . .can you teach me how to teleport?", I am afraid of his answer. "Well. . .sure. Why not?", a smile spreads across his face. He holds my waist, and puts my hands in an awkward position. His presence over my body is comforting, though.

"Now,", this makes him look like a fake professor. "You have to think of happy things. You have to feel it. It's up to you to do it, not me. Can you feel it?", he wispers in my ear. Surprisingly, I can feel it. I don't know what this feeling is, but it feels good. "Yeah, I think.", I my voice is a little scratchy. His hands are still on my waist. We both have romantic smiles spread across our faces. We are really feeling each other. "Now. Think of where you want to go. Of course you want to go to my place, so think about it.", he informs me. "Okay.", I sound understanding. Next thig I know, here we are. On the floor of Chase's house. "Ohmygosh! Wow!", I say excitedly. "I actually did it!", I can't believe this. My first time trying, and I did it. I am so proud of myself! "Wow, Hailey! Your first try, and you did it! When I got about 13, my mom started teaching me how to teleport, but it took me about 4 tries before I actually got it down pack. I am impressed.", he sounds excited. "so am I!", I am also excited. "Maybe you are the chosen one.", he jokes. "Maybe I am.", I joke back looking at a wrapped gift on his couch. "What's this? Is this my present?", It is an awefully big box. "Yeah. . .", he is a little nervous about what my reaction is going to the present. I walk over to the couch, and pick up the neatly wrapped gift. It is surprisingly heavy. "Wow! What do you have in here? A ton of bricks!", I joke. "No, actually. Why didn't I think of that?", he has a pretend -to-think look onhis face. We both burst into laughter, as I rip at the box.
