From the desk of Brother Brandon “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.” Ephesians 1:19 God is so tremendously good! He has revealed to us over the past two months just how exceedingly great his power really is. I cannot thank God enough for all the lives we have seen changed for him. In just the past month we have seen 6 salvations and 7 baptisms, this is truly the working of a mighty God. We are in the midst of a great revival, the excitement I see each and every Sunday and Wednesday is something I have been praying for. I really think that we are only seeing the beginning of what God will do if we keep our eyes on him. I would like to welcome all of our new members to the family. God has placed you here for a reason and a purpose. I want you to know that you have a congregation of people here that love you and will be there for you no matter the need. This church is filled with loving and compassionate people that care about each other. We truly are “One in the bond of love”. As we focus on a new church year, let our prayer be that God continues to send his mighty power upon this church. God Bless, Bro. Brandon

From Lynn Varner: Ladies Discipleship Training A matter of principle: “ From Proverbs 4" Hold onto instruction, do not let it go, guard it well for it is your life, do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk from your lips. God give us instructions for life through His living word, the Bible. It is our responsibility to take the time to read and study those instructions. Gods word leaves no room for compromise. As sons and daughters of the Father, we should endeavor to act upon principles provided by our Father. We will never regret separating ourselves from the world and standing firm on his truth. If our convictions are firmly in place before a time of crisis, they will still be standing when the crisis is over. Lets all begin and end our day with Him, who is the Alpha and Omega. May God Bless each of you & May God Bless America

From Roy Green, Deacon’s Ministry The Deacons ask that we pray for our schools and the students as they return for the 2009-10 school year. Let’s make it a daily request that God provide guidance and protection for the administration, faculty and students. We as a church family need to give our full support.

From Brother Sam Pruitt; Minister of Music I’ve been here 4 Sundays now and I have seen God working in a marvelous way. Souls are being saved and lives are being changed. The choir is doing a fantastic job and I encourage anyone who will to come join in with the choir in helping us to exalt the name of Jesus.

From Kelley Wright Special Services & Mission Action/Ministry Wow! What an awesome July! No one can accuse Weogufka 2nd Baptist of taking it easy during the summer. We kicked things off with a great Independence Day celebration. Then there was Vacation Bible School. I still can't say "Thank You" enough to everyone who worked so hard to make our voyage on the S.S. Good News a success. The fact that 4 precious souls were added to the kingdom made all the hard work worth it! On the 28th we hosted the birthday party at Coosa Valley Nursing Home. It's always such a blessing to celebrate with them. The next day was work day at Mrs. Ruby and Mr. Junior Robinson's house. Thanks to everyone who came out and braved the heat and humidity to help. August promises to be just as exciting! There are trips for the kids, a retreat at the lake for the whole church and who knows what else we will come up with before the month is out! We will continue to collect school supplies until August 9th. Then we will plan a day to deliver them to the school. Make sure to be at church each week so you won't miss out on anything! And always remember, whatever we do, to God be the glory!! Kelley

From Melvin Palmer; Discipleship Training Dir. Melvin and Linda Palmer would like to invite everyone to their cabin on the lake for a day of fellowship and fun, August 15, beginning at 12pm. Please sign up in the vestibule if you plan to attend.

From Paul Dunsieth,; Sunday School Director Remember when someone taught you something or showed you the right way to do what you were wanting to do. Sunday School is like that, it’s a time for you to learn to understand the meaning of Gods Word, so you can go through life doing things right.
