FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: Myasia Burns VP, Communications Intelclinic 800-123-9876 myasiaburns@intelclinic.com http://intelclinic.com INTELCLINIC CREATES SLEEPING MASK THAT MEASURES SLEEP CYCLES AND CREATES MORE EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES Junea, AK, October 9, 2013 Often times, we believe that in order to get a good sleep, we need to snore away for at least 8 hours. This belief was created as a result of longtime rumors and myths, based in half-truths and weak scientific findings. Intelclinic has created a new product, SmartSleep, that will revolutionize the way you sleep and it will be available in US Brookstone stores and online on January 15, 2014. Tomek Smith, Materials Science Engineer at Intelclinic, explained the process: SmartSleep first measures your REM cycle, and gently wakens you after your last REM phase. When you wake up, you will feel energized instead of the usual grogginess you feel after waking up from a deep, long sleep. Why? Surprisingly, the extra sleep you receive after your last REM phase drains your energy, so its more effective to wake up earlier. One of the masks main features is the achievement of successful power naps. Many of us believe that a power nap is simply too short to do any real good. The mask will emphasize the importance of recharging throughout the day, also making it easier to keep track of when and how long it is necessary to sleep. Another main feature is the memory foam included in the mask. The mask allows for maximum comfort and ease of use, as it will remember up to five users. When one of those five users places the mask over their eyes, the mask will immediately contour to the shape of the users face and load the necessary settings for the user. -more-

Smith also notes, We realize that it will be a challenge to teach people how to sleep, as w e all think we already know the ins and outs. However, just ask yourself this: How often do you wake up feeling groggy, wishing you had more time to sleep, and just overwhelmed by the feeling of unproductiveness? If this happens to you ever, then you need SmartSleep in your life. About Intelclinic Intelclinic is a new, innovative start-up company, dedicated to improving sleep for everyone. What is Intelclinic?
Intelclinic is a private start-up, based in Juneau, AK. It was founded in 2009 and has grown exponentially since then. Originally, the SmartSleep product was an app that was to be housed on Google Play and the App Store. But soon, the idea for a physical product was born, and Intelclinic was created. Kamil Johnson (CEO), Tomek Smith (Materials Science Engineer), Robert Jefferson (iOS Developer), Janusz Zanakowsky (Hardware Engineer), and Krzysiek Wicinsky (Embedded Systems Engineer) are the original founders of Intelclinic. This team has worked to create a collective brand, sleep deprivation awareness campaign, and innovative product. As a new start-up, they face challenges everyday with creating awareness about their product and trust within their brand. After the release of their initial product, Intelclinic hopes to provide a line of products for improving wellness and productivity among consumers. They attempt to ease the transition into using new products by making apps relative to the products available in app stores. In addition, the products will be shown at different US conventions and trade shows. Intelclinic looks to increase their company size soon. With a small staff, achieving awareness can be difficult and creating new products takes much time. With a larger staff, new brand representatives could change the entire face of the product. Intelclinic also hopes to

create offices worldwide to learn more about markets in countries outside the US, in order to better craft their product, and make it globally available.

Biography of Kamil Johnson

Kamil Johnson is an up and coming program designer and innovator, often known to collect books and trinkets to learn more about the world around him. He got his start at the University of Alaska, pursuing his B.S. in Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. After graduating from the University of Alaska, he immediately pursued his M.F.A. in Interactive Media at the University of Miami. There, he made some friends that would influence his entire life in just a few short months. While studying, Johnson and his friends would often toss around ideas on how to better prepare for exams and projects. Johnson came up with the idea of designing a robot that would rouse you when you had completed your full 8 hours of sleep, as college students often oversleep on weekends, killing any sense of productivity they might have tried to achieve. Not to mention that students occasionally oversleep on weekdays, making themselves late for work shifts and classes. Through informal research, Johnson quickly learned about REM phases and power naps. Once he relayed this message to his friends, they realized that this product could have previously untapped potential to educate the world about how to sleep correctly and efficiently. They decided a portable product with an accompanying app would probably be a better choice, as a robot would be expensive and time-consuming to create.

Johnson and 4 other friends soon dropped out of the Interactive Media program to fully pursue the creation of their company Intelclinic, as they could no longer focus on their studies. Since then, Johnson and his friends have appeared on NBCs hit show, Shark Tank and ABCs hit show, American Inventor. These shows have allowed Intelclinic and their newly named product, SmartSleep, worldwide attention and momentum.
